These are nice additions, but when I eventually get around to replaying this, it’ll be the main game I play.
Same with Metroid Dread, I completed that game many times over, but didn’t really pursue the boss attack or Dread modes.

Dead cells was ace, so I have a lot of faith that this will be good.

It looks so much like Dead Cells, mechanically speaking. That is a great thing though. I’m still impressed by how many weapons they made in that game that felt so good to use. It’s no easy feat.
I have every confidence it’ll be the same with this game (even though I reckon a fair few of them will feel very familiar to those in Dead Cells).

Both fair and true statements. But I’ve already played Dead Cells. A lot. Really a lot. It at least had visuals I liked. If this is a reskinned remix then, as I say, it leaves me cold. Need new and shiny.

Oh for sure, it needs to be more than a skin. I just have a bit of faith it will be so I'm readying myself for crushing disappointment 😂

I've played a bit of Rogue. It does feel very Dead Cells. But I think it has enough of its own thing to differentiate it. It's much more platformer-y and the movement options make it feel faster and different.
I will say though that it's very bare bones at the moment. It probably feels more like a demo, but they seem to have big plans for very frequent updates so can see it fleshing out quite quickly.

Only watched a little bit but it looks fine (background wall jumping is cool). Concern for me is it being published by Ubisoft. Did the metroidvania one require a Ubisoft account/online connection to play? Please don't be a live service. Wonder why they went with an existing IP
I just picked Dead Cells back up- deleted my save file to start from scratch and see how long it'll take me to get back to 5BC. The soundtrack is so good. I'm sure I saw an announcement for Dead Cells 2 a little while ago though (around the same time as Hades 2). I wonder if they'll work with Evil Empire again after it's released. Everything they added to it is brilliant

Yeah, it needed a Ubisoft account to play, which really annoyed me.

I've got a few runes already (Vine, Teleport and my head popping off) but I've no idea how to get the rest of the runes, nor what I need to do with the various keys I've picked up! Do I have to mess around with the boss cells or something? I wanted to familiarise myself with the game and try and beat the Hand a few more times before putting the difficulty up.

One to work on new games and one to continue work on Dead Cells. Now that Dead Cells is done, I’m not sure what is happening.

They're different studios, and they have had a weird falling out due to Motion Twin essentially forcing Evil Empire to stop working on Dead Cells, despite EE announcing that they had more content to come. It's not entirely clear what was happening behind the scenes.
Motion Twin are making Windblown, Evil Empire are making The Rogue Prince of Persia.

Do I have to mess around with the boss cells or something? I wanted to familiarise myself with the game and try and beat the Hand a few more times before putting the difficulty up. There's a wall jump and ground smash thing
For the floor rune, use the teleport statue at the end of Promenade of the Condemned (keep going past the elevator). That'll lead to a new stage (the Ossuary) where you can find the rune
Wall jump is in the Slumbering Sanctuary- Prisoner's Quarters>Toxic Sewers>Ancient Sewers>Insufferable Crypt (boss)>Slumbering Sanctuary
There's another rune but it's not really important (or that useful). Basically, just fully explore each level and you'll find places that you can use your new abilities that'll lead to new biomes. If you've got the DLC, there's a fair few biomes/paths through the game to discover (and alternate endings/final boses)
There's a fair few keys and they all do something (it's not Dark Souls) but you should be able to work everything out over time just by exploring and unlocking all the areas (part of the fun imo)
Some Boss Cells require you to take a particular path through the game but there are enough clues that you should be able to figure it out when it matters. You can also earn Boss Cells by beating either of the bosses added in the DLC (Dracula and the Queen. which are both well worth seeing)
As for bosses, either learn them in the boss rush mode or practice area. I wouldn't personally do any more runs until I was confident I could reliably take down a boss
I would also recommend putting the difficulty up as soon as you can (at least for the first couple). It's scary but the penalty isn't that bad really and you get more cells so can unlock things much faster (starting with higher quality weapons and stuff especially). If you're going for all the Boss Cells, the main issue is going to be the lack of flask refills (none for 5- not sure about 4). Weaning yourself off them is a good idea and looking for ways to regain health through weapons/abilities
In terms of content though, I believe you should be able to see more or less everything the game has on 1BC (and get all abilities). So just explore the game and enjoy yourself. Only go for the higher BCs if you find it fun

That's all brillant, thanks for taking the time to explain. I've got it in my head that you're a big Sekiro fan, so I will say parrying is really effective in Dead Cells (and pretty easy). It's also the easiest way to beat bosses and regain health (with the right mutations). You can do serious damage with parrying alone. Shields are always my go to if I want to be confident I'll finish a run

I'll start giving them a go, especially with some of the new parry friendly mutations I've just unlocked!

Welcome back Aunt Alison , good to hear from you again! That was me (Material Defender)
Also, when I said you can get all the abilities on BC1, I meant the runes. You might need to be on the higher BC levels for some blueprints

Second update out for Lost Crown including boss rush This actually fixed a bugged Xerxes coin for me. And then the treasure maps are great for 100 per centing. Plus warping between Wakwak trees is now there but should have been upon release. Hope this sold well as I really want another one.

I think that beefy discount they did a while ago might suggest otherwise, but I too hope it’s done well. The fact they haven’t dropped the DLC plan is promising then.

Needs a UK politics dlc. Sunak takes a holiday to Iran to avoid the press and get away from the humiliation of a crushing election defeat…

I do not regret the price I paid one bit. Having said that, it’s already had a huge discount this year and will likely have another one before Christmas.
