I would hope the nerfing is kept to a minimum, the Sickle is a great gun but on hot planets the slower heat loss means you will need to heatsink at times plus it doesn't have much armour penetration. Great for most things though.
The Quasar does seem a little too powerful at the moment, I hope it doesn't get nerfed but I wouldn't be surprised at some tweaking.

Quasar is strong but it's a very long charge time and you're rooted during it. Makes it rough to use in really intense moments, you have to consciously stay somewhat out of thick of it vs an EAT.

You're not rooted you can move around you just have to be aiming what you're firing at when you fire, you can duck out of cover just as the charge finishes.
Not only does it close nests you can kill fabricators at range through the vent and obviously blow up things like transmission towers from a long distance.

So much friendly fire damage... Should have took screenshot of that.
Also I really should stop playing this. 6 hours sleep before work isn't the best idea.

Two shotting a tank without having to hit the vent was when I truly learned to love the Quasar, before then it had been admiration.

The lessons from the actual Vietnam were not learned when it came to Space Vietnam, some people have a weird fetishism in constantly fighting there. I fucking hate the place, whatever Super Earth's version of an Exterminatus should be done to it.

Soo latest patch has added in sandstorms and some other adjustments including
The Patriot exosuit's rockets will now only pierce armor on a direct hit, while the Arc Thrower has had its stagger force increased. Guard Dogs will now fully recover ammo from supply boxes, and fire damage per tick has increased by 50% from all sources. The Anti-Material Rifle has had its damage increased by 30%, and the Breaker Incendiary has seen its damage increase from 15 to 20 per bullet.
I've always wanted to try that rifle. Maybe now it'll be worth it?

The AMR was always a good pick against bots anyway, it didn't really need a damage buff because it could already 2 shot devastators. The problem with it is that the sights aren't aligned properly so the bullet doesn't go where you aim, which they've not fixed yet. As a result you're still better off with the Railgun IMO, which is still far and away the best pick for bots as its easily deals with most bot threats and doesn't take up your shield slot (though you could just run heavy armour instead).

Don't think I've picked up a railgun since the day after the nerf, now the Quasar exists not sure I ever will. My pretty standard load out these days is pretty much scout light armour, Sickle, Redeemer, impact grenades, orbital laser, Eagle airstrike, personal shield, Quasar. At some point hopefully HD1 saved loadouts will crossover games.
Interesting and by interesting I mean, aaaargh, eradicate missions have changed again. At the start you'd get a chance to set up defences before anything happened (I remember one automaton eradicate mission everyone set up and I just laid down and just watched the kill count), then it was changed so everything kicked off straight away and I tried one last night and not only had the completion requirement changed to a percentage it was a hot zone as I dropped in. Not sure people will be farming those so much now.
In other news, as Malevelon Creek has finally been taken it's a memorial day for it with a free cape to celebrate.

The Railgun nerf basically didn't do anything to it at all when it comes to fighting bots, if you previously used it in unsafe mode anyway. Not so good against bugs though. Makes the Quasar hard to fit in for me, I'd rather use EATs for bugs.

Dropping dropships with the Quasar can't be underestimated, a few of them in the team makes life a lot easier.

Usually someone goes for quasar so I opt for laser cannon against bots at the minute. Had a moment perched across a canyon helping my friend from being swarmed by keeping up Long range sustained fire across the map. It's kind of wild how far the laser travels.

I quite enjoyed blowing up a radio tower with a Quasar from the exfil point I landed on and could just see it in the distance, shame it can't do detectors or jammers though, getting the angle to blow a fabricator is tricky too.

The new blizzard and sandstorm effects are really quite something, especially the sandstorm. Was on Durgen doing some missions and when the sand rolled in making visibility just about non-existent but it also stops the bots seeing you, me and one team mate pretty much stealthed our way into a stratagem jammer site, meleeing some oblivious guards as we did and blew it up with pretty much zero effort. Later on I'm off looking for a mortar site while the rest of the team mop up some fabricator sites and I nearly walk into the base without realising, only stopping when I see the red eyes of a bot about 3 metres away that just couldn't see me even though he's looking in my direction.
On the other hand being in a storm and blundering into a patrol you can't see is not exactly ideal.

I've leveled up enough to give me some options. 500kg bomb, the orbital laser you like using so much, EATs and a couple of other options to name but a few.
Nearing 1000 SC also which is nice and will hopefully hit level 20 over the next few nights.
We on again later this evening?

Those bots won't kill themselves so I guess we'll have to do it.

We really could have used a sandstorm about now.

It looks like a scene from command and conquer and Joel is moving his troops into position.
Edit: more like Dark Reign

The funny thing is difficulty 7 often feels easier than 6 because they only adjusted the spawns on 7+.

It'll be a shame when Durgen gets liberated, the terrain and the sandstorms are really nice, could have used one of them in this escape.

Very disappointing missing out on the Gone in 360 Seconds trophy by 7 seconds after a rocket knocked a couple of us away from the Pelican, doing this one made up for it at least. I have a new love for orbital barrages, they may not kill a lot of things at times but they are really fucking fun.

The funny thing is difficulty 7 often feels easier than 6 because they only adjusted the spawns on 7+. I've been habitually on 6 with Automatons to play it safe as with randoms i was often getting team wiped at higer difficulty. Yeah, tried at 7 today on Durgen and felt comfortable, easier or at least no more difficult.

It looks like the automatons are learning what it means to take on democracy. So what comes next? Terminids getting a big push forward? Third faction getting introduced?

Well you'll be fighting just bugs now as the Automaton menace is over, well done Helldivers I'm sure the signals they were sending out of the known systems were just random nonsense and it's in no way an indication that the Illuminate will make their presence felt soon. Maybe they'll liberate Cyberstan and the Cyborgs themselves will return? Who knows, I'm sure Super Earth is on the path to total victory...

And there was me thinking I'd miss out on all the launch day excitement you lot had. Fuck's sake.
