I liked what EG said about the difficulty.
Initial play through is kinda easy but NG+ and the unlockable hard mode is a more considered game.
I've bought and downloaded anyway.

I've just got caught up on the drama.
Times are changing I guess, because in my day the drama would have been coming from weird moms clutching their pearls and senators launching attacks in between cheating on their wives. Now it's coming from the gamer side with smelly incels celebrating it as a successful attack on western women. Great.
This stuff is why I STILL will never identify myself as a gamer. Despite it being a big part of my life, owning a sizeable collection and regularly playing retro games etc., when a new person asks me my interests I skip right past it.

Although if Eve looked like Abby I'd probably be buying this. Abby is fucking cool.
I do prefer my protagonists to be grounded in realism a bit more though, be they male or female. As I said before, it's difficult to justify to my wife and son why I'm playing Tits McGee's Adventures in Wacky World, no matter how good the game is.

My biggest problem with it and the thing that's stopping me from buying it day one is the price. Ive played enough action games of asian origin that are made by and for panty sniffers in my time to not worry about playing them in front of other humans but I wouldn't want them to know I paid 70 fucking quid for it.

13 Sentinels has a narrative reason why the protaganists have to be naked in the mech cockpits (honest). It's one of the best games ever yet still dicey considering the cast are teenagers. Can't Rim an Aegis fully clothed. |

This seems like a very well polished game, good music, good combat, best parrying since Sekiro, better than Lies of P, decent if not amazing story, multiple endings with multiple end bosses. DF said for a first time effort on console, it puts many other established devs to shame.
Also you can wear outfits that cover your torso from waste to neck if you don't like too much flesh. Having watched some gameplay footage, there is just not enough time to be staring at her chest anyway, looks quite frantic with combat as satisfying as God of War.
I liked Rurikhan's summation of the over reaction of this games main protagonist. Mainly, if you are overlooking this game because of the jiggle physics, you are daft. One of the best games this year so far.
Will still wait a while before getting it, too much on at the moment.

My gigantic backlog is hurting my interest in new games. I still have not been able to stop collecting rare rpgs for switch and PS4( bought all the (romancing) saga remasters physical last month and both Shiren the Wanderer games). I am.not jaded or anything, finished like 5 retro rpgs for the ps2 past 2 months. Just currently in a sort of retro loop.
I still just dont feel anything when looking at this game and none of the reviews have convinced me. For me personally, youtube channels like Fextralife and Fighting Cowboy have really lost a bit of credibility after their overly positive and generally lacking reviews of Lords of the Fallen. I still think this will be a bargain bin sale for me a couple of years later.

Yeah, even at £47 via the Japanese PSN I'm hesitant to jump in. Far too much in my backlog to make it worth buying this before it hits £20.

Not having watched his views on Lords of the Fallen, FightinCowboy lost me after shelving Rise of the Ronin after the first "proper" main mission tbh. I fully get that perhaps the game just wouldn't have been his style, maybe a bit more casual than he likes, but at the point in the game that he stopped you've unlocked basically nothing (no combat styles, very few skills, missing some if not most of the weapons etc). It was far too early for him to dismiss it IMO and he seemed to be coming at it with a negative attitude from the start as well. I mean, if I had that sort of attitude towards TN games I'd still be at the snake in Nioh 2, for example (and wherever I was in Nioh 1, by extension, since I wouldn't have been motivated to play that either ) |

Not to reopen this can of worms, but he actually gave the game 25-odd hours before throwing in the towel - he just didn't continue his 'Let's Play' series beyond the mission you describe.
