I suppose we have to bear in mind that even if this turns out to be entirely or even partially accurate, the Tomb Raider franchise is currently owned by the fucking Embracer group, so this could get cancelled and all studio/employees/assets etc. sold off at any moment.

I'm pretty sceptical of open world design as it so frequently just falls back to the same tired conventions so I can't really get excited by there speculation.
Open worlds can be done well but more often they'll just be filled with activities that act as time sinks rather than provide actual fun.
Wonder if there will be towers you have to climb to reveal the map.

Completing them all will allow you to access a final small tomb where it's revealed that Lara's ancestors were actually in the Assassins' Brotherhood, setting up the great crossover between the two storied franchises. |

Completing them all will allow you to access a final small tomb where it's revealed that Lara's ancestors were actually in the Assassins' Brotherhood, setting up the great crossover between the two storied franchises. Or the final tomb turns out to be Marble Zone and we get a different kind of crossover. |

Lest we forget Sega's certainly trying to  Well actually no, let's wait and see how he's portrayed in the third Sonic movie first. They do have Keanu Reeves voicing him so who knows at this point |

I'm loving* the possibility that after the TR1-3 remasters came out and made me remember that classic TR is far better than anything the series has done since and there's a unique joy to the challenging platforming, the puzzle solving and atmosphere that few other series have replicated, instead of trying to recapture the magic CD are just going fucking chase trends again instead of just making a tomb raider game

I can see them launching Switch 2 with a new Mario game, easily. I’d be surprised if Mario Kart isn’t out by the console’s first Christmas. A Zelda would be hard to imagine though. I suspected they were probably working on 2 games at once (one alongside Tears of the Kingdom), but if it was a year 1 release it almost certainly has to be a port.
It makes sense to get a Sports game out sooner rather than later, too. Switch Sports perhaps made playing each sport a little too easy, but there’s definitely promise to the online side of things. There’s plenty of room for improvement there
