I have this on a wishlist because I’m looking for an extraction shooter that scratches the same itch as Vigor, but isn’t Vigor. Me and Vigor have an abusive relationship where I reinstall about once a year and then remember I liked the base building and risk-
/reward but hate the actual combat and the ridiculous grind to get through the battle pass.
But I’m not sure I want to drop 30 quid on Hunt Showdown without seeing a bit more of it first.
(Also I’m a terrible multiplayer with no mic and hardly any free time)

Pc? If pc it’s usually like £10-15 on cd keys.
Incredible game but not for the faint hearted. It’s fine to play solo as well, there are perks available to self revive and you go into an easier matchmaking pool.
If on console it’s still great but not the biggest player base.

Not PC unfortunately - Xbox I think it’s one of the best multiplayer shooters ever but on Xbox/console it’s not always full servers. You need to have the current gen Xbox as soon they are updating the engine and you won’t be able to play it on ps4 and x1. Cd keys sell Xbox codes as well so you might be able to get it cheap. There’s no cross play with pc which is unfortunate but understandable as it has weapon sway, old slow firing guns and bullet travel time to consider and mouse would wreck controller. The gun fights are some of the best in gaming though with no machine guns, being able to shoot through thinner walls and the best audio in gaming. Seriously you get most kills by using your ears. |

I'm getting emails from them for some reason, but I have no idea what it is. It's weird west extraction game. 4 teams of 3 all trying to kill a couple of big monsters to make out with the bounty. But most of it's a back drop from honestly IMO the most unique and best gunplay experience out there- all the weapons are from late 19th century so they're all slow firing revolvers and flintlocks etc. It probably doesn't sound the least bit fun but it really is. |

It's not even all teams of 3. There's duos and solos mixed up in there as well. I suck at the PvP aspect so spend most of my time hiding and trying to sneak about the place. I don't even go for the bounty half the time. It's got an amazingly grim atmosphere as well. There's meant to have been a PS5 version in April but no sign of it as yet. Hopefully get it soon as it looks a bit ropey in places.
Bichii would be able to effuse more if she were here as I think she played it quite a lot.

For me duos is much better than trios (you can choice which mode before you start). I prefer having more teams on the maps.
They consistently have events as well that mixes it up with gameplay modifications and different weathers. A few months back they added heavy rain which mixes up how the battles play out.

Yeah duos is a very different game. People are less bold but also less predictable. Lots of early fights, lots of solos mixing things up... each duos game plays out completely differently. |
