Oh god, the tank boss in MW2 was so very, very shit. The rest was ok, but not amazing. Maybe give it a 6/10, but that does feel a bit generous. I've barely played any of them. Original MW, one of the BLOPS (2 I think, which I played on a Wii U, because I'm a freak) and new MW2 (as well as the very original CoD, but that feels like a different beast nowadays). Never been a massive fan, but I don't mind dropping into them once in a while and the multiplayer has a very enjoyable "pick up, play, have fun" vibe to them that is surprisingly absent from a lot of other modern FPS games. Probably because everything else has to be a hero shooter. Would certainly be interested in doing a complete run through of all the campaigns if they are dropped on Game Pass, although can't say I've found the single player hugely interesting in any of the ones I've played. Short and sweet though, and normally offer some dumb fun. I do have a 3 month code to use for Game Pass, which I might plug in when the new one arrives. Is it a code for Game Pass Ultimate, because the new CoD is only available on that not standard Game Pass. PC Game Pass. As far as I can tell, you don't need Ultimate there. |

The MP maps were well received at launch to be fair. Most of the community have been fairly happy with the multi since launch.
The biggest issue is the sound has been fucked for the entire game but that's been reworked for the new one apparently.

Core is basically normal Xbox Live Gold, standard is game pass without any of the 1st party day one games on so nothing recent, and ultimate is everything. |

MP always excites me but I’d like to know if there will be a PVE only option for Warzone. I’d absolutely love that, but I don’t think they care about my opinion sadly.
With Zombies looking more Warzone-y I also do wonder if that will have PVP shoehorned in to ruin it. I think MW3 zombies was like that but can’t remember much about it.

That’s good news.
I played a bit more of Blops 3 tonight. I’m actually thinking a lot more highly of the campaign than I used to, although the controls and option paralysis are confusing. It also seems designed to be fun when you have all the powers and much less before. I seem to remember it paying absolute lip service to the former 2 in some sort of hallucinatory sequence but I don’t think it affects the BLOPs ‘canon’ really and stands alone.
They’re dumb these games but they are always a good rollercoaster.

Anybody on Xbox, make sure you manually manage the installation of this game if you want it ready for Friday. I went on this morning and all looked gravy until I went deeper in and saw that SP, MP and a load of ‘cross-gen’ packs were not installed. No idea if you need the latter like.

Last one was pretty shit campaign-wise for sure, but the highlight for me was DMZ, which was AMAZING fun with a good group. I had so much fun with that. |

I thought I'd preload the other day via the Xbox website to have a butchers at launch. Checked last night and there was 200GB installed, none of which seemed to be the Blops6 campaign.

The way I manage this on Series X is to have stuff I’m not likely to play imminently on an external hard drive (which is a lot cheaper than the SSD expansion) and when I know something big is coming out I’ll do a clear out using both methods. This also reduces the pile of shame so has stress benefits.

It's "shrunk" by you having to dl a massive launcher, THEN dl the actual game. I still believe in the conspiracy of Activision wanting to dominate your hard drive. If you have a Series S without an expansion then effectively you've lost your whole hard drive to this. |

I’m not gonna lie after a stressful couple of weeks I’m really looking forward to some of this. I’ve only ever found it with Forza Horizon and CoD but it’s properly like a brain and troubles switch off. Just the perfect mix of a near automatic loop of simple movements and dopamine hits when the rewards come in.
I really do miss the post tea and Sunday afternoon sessions when I was in my early twenties through the original MW1 and 2, and there was an actual real squad of people that I’d then be at the pub with on Friday and Saturday. Sadly the mid 30s/early 40s diaspora and children put paid to that!
As it’s ‘free’ this year I’m considering buying the whatever it is that gets you tokens and stuff, as they tend to hide certain weapons and stuff behind this.
