But yeah, it looks like a proper JSR sequel/spiritual successor and that's not a bad thing. They've even got Hideki Naganuma back to do the music.

Still go back to Jet Set Radio, nothing else like it. Hopefully this can do it justice, it looks promising! Wish they'd re-release JSR Future though, I've not got an OG Xbox and haven't played it since it first came out.

Awoops! Clearly misread the font.
It looks pretty boss. JSR was always a great game but shows it’s age a bit now. It’s strange that until now no one has taken the concept and expanded it. Looking forward to this.

I totally forgot this was coming out today. Kinda feels like they didn't do much advertising.
Trailer looks crazy. I have lots of expenses coming up in the next couple months though, so I might have to wait it out for a little while. And I also wanted to pick up Alone in the Dark... there are choices to make here.

Out on PS5 and Xbox now. Like slipping into a pair of comfy trainers, this game feels so familiar with some nice quality of life changes. Surprised the story is a little darker in tone than I was expecting, but still goofy enough to have skateboarding graffiti gangs fighting over a street code. Combat is pretty simple, no lock on can be a pain with no flying enemies but they're thankfully brief so far.

Played a bit last night.
Very much JSR.(to the point I wished they would let you skip the tutorial bits)
Tagging has been updated and works well enough. Not a big fan of the combat but everything else feels very familiar.

Combat was improved when I realised that if you hit the jump button after any move it will launch the enemy into the air and allow you to tag them immediately and 'kill' them. The game can put you into a scenario where combats unavoidable, but if you're just skating out in the world, don't be thinking you have to do it. For any enemy you kill another just respawns and will keep going as there's no way to lose heat other than a booth to change clothes. Do take out the turret that shoots chains tho, can be annoying plus it will shoot you up into the air allowing you to get to an otherwise unreachable tag location or collectible
Cool game so far, found a hidden area last night that was essentially a big platforming challenge that kept you moving upwards that I enjoyed
