That Quirke try was awesome!!
I saw that Farrell may miss some of Six Nations sure to ankle injury. That could be it.

Paid £150 to sit and watch us lose today. Worth every penny. I don't know what it is that makes rugby so special. Had English guys queuing up to shake my hand and buy me drinks post match. It really is the friendliest game in the world.

Not sure Wales can rely on every team going down to 14 men in 2022. A lot of work for us to do.

The Glasgow v Edinburgh game is off this evening so I was watching Squidge's review of 2021:
Though I'd also add Scotland finally winning in Paris, not quite as big as winning in Twickenham since before I was born.

Squidge is absolute Marmite, I personally like him because his analysis is bang on and no-one else (apart from Murray at the42.ie) does that

Really? I've never seen anyone have a bad word to say about Squidge. Not like it's Stephen Jones, not that I know what he's on about these days he blocked me in 2017.

Yeah, some fans find him a bit memetastic (fair enough imo), but his analysis is spot on and his knowledge is second to none. Dude watches Russian ladies league 2 games for insight, so he's dedicated

Yeah noone really does the depth of analysis stuff on youtube to the same extent at all. Just demonstrating the tactics really clearly for everyone is great. Also I loved that the Chilean captain called him out after winning so he did a video on Chile ^_^

He does need to let go of AWJ though

I'm having a lovely Saturday as URC is back and I've got a double header of Edinburgh then Glasgow while painting 40K minis. Edinburgh are pumping Cardiff right now, Mike Blair being made coach has made a world of difference, some clever Argentinian signings, and capturing a couple of Scotland internationals (Vellacott, Lang), but really its the coaching that's made them such a sharp attack.

Irish have Paddy Jackson and fuck that guy. Saracens are nearest to me in North London but filthy cheats. I like what Quins do, and they have Huw Jones (I tend to pick Premiership teams by the number of Scotland players), but West London... also fuck Danny Care. Anyway bonus point win for Glasgow as well! Woop woop. I've been painting up these: www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Adepta-Sororitas-Arco-Flagellants-2020

I expect pics on the Warhammer thread later

Most of the 6 Nations squads are out now (well the home nations). Scotland: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/60057238England: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/60036981Wales: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/60024912Wales seem to be carrying injuries again. I for one am looking forward to Biggar being captain and a whiney gobshite to the point where refs just award penalties to the other side to piss him off. England its a changing of the guard, which makes sense really. Scotland, the one I care about, Toonie has spun the tombola once again. So I'm in full "Who the fuck is Ben White" mode. But going without Kebble (who always looks like a huge Andy Serkis) and especially Hastings seems madness. Kinghorn is a utility back who apparently now plays 10, but he's barely proven at club level let alone the 6N. He's a great bench option as he covers wing, fullback, fly-half. But I would not want to be training all tournament without Hastings as the actual proper back up for Finn.

England its a changing of the guard, which makes sense really. Hoping Biggar comes up against Luke Pearce, who is mighty fond of marching teams back. Billy Vunipola cost Saracens 30m earlier this season. Re: England, keeping the bang average, barely fit and rarely in form Farrell around is really tiresome, particularly when it comes at the expense of Ford, or trying to develop actual 12s like Dan Kelly (which has been an issue for us since 2004). I'm also terrified that we'll see a backrow of Lawes, Ludlam, Curry at some point, (probably as France spank us back across the channel by 40+ points) despite having three players that actually play 8 for their clubs in the squad. Eddie gonna Eddie though Is Hastings injured or something? He looked great in the AIs

Hastings is not injured as far as I can tell and has been playing well for Gloucester. Toonie may be experimenting with a 6/2 bench, so Kinghorn covering wing/fullback/flyhalf is a more useful sub. Especially if someone like Kyle Stein is around who covers centre/wing etc. It's fucking high risk though. Plus at this point Scotland should be putting out the younger lads against Italy to get some game time.
Yeah its a permanent problem with England the midfield. Since Lancaster's days the strategy is Farrell is not the best 10 or 12 but somehow too good to drop and the plan for the midfield is "Tuilagi" who then once again gets injured. They probably need to move past blowing the summon Manu horn and come up with an actual long term plan in midfield.

I hope you're wrong about the 6/2 bench. Not a strategy I enjoy, although at least most of your backs are more durable than Manu What I've seen of Ben White is decent. Definitely worth investing some time in and possibly capping before he figures out he has an Irish granny or something

Well Scotland being flash have turned over most other teams recently, notably away in England, France and Wales for the first time in decades. Australia we've beaten 3 in a row. Not lost to Italy since 2015 etc. So a corner has turned finally. The problem is the 2 teams who we keep fucking up against in big games are South Africa and Ireland. 2 teams that aim to just bludgeon you to death with relentless discipline and phase after phase. We've come close, or run close against them both for 60 minutes then the last 20 discipline collapses.
Irritatingly our World Cup pool is fucking Ireland and South Africa. So I imagine 6/2 is a tactic with that all in mind. I'd rather watch the Finn Russell magic passes high wire show myself.

Toonie would do well to rewatch the RWC final, a lot, to see what happens if you try to out-Bok the Boks.
Anyone doing a fantasy Six Nations team?

Yeah I'm not sure he'd want to out bok the boks, but have the forwards still in it at 80 minutes for Finn to do his magic. Speaking of gobby fly-halves as captains, Ireland announced their squad: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/60059924I'm not currently in a Six Nations fantasy team, I'm always shit though as I let my personal vendettas get the better of me.

I need to check who is reffing their matches (Luke Pearce please!) On the reffing front, England have Anderson in a couple of games, and given how poor he was in the Quins v Castres game, I'm not terribly keen on the idea of him being a ref at all, let alone internationally (Quins had a looooot of decisions or missed things go their way that shouldn't have - and I'm a Quins fan.) (That 83rd minute try was fine though)
