That was my first instinct too, although this image haunted me for a while afterward:

Started this again and going to try and stick to it this time. Johnny Depp has just turned up so I can't be far off where I got up to on my prior save. Enjoying it a lot more with mouse and keyboard, such a cool world. I do find the menus a bit counter-intuitive though.

2.11 patch today, should fix a lot of bugs. Melee finishers included.
Hopefully won't break something else.
Apparently radioport cab be set to turn off when exiting vehicles, know that bugged a few people here

I still haven't started Phantom. I made a point of starting a fresh playthrough and once I'd got to the end realised the fucking opening quest trigger didn't fire at the point it was supposed to. At least there's an option to start a new game at the start of it.

Finally bought this and the expansion in the sale.
Any tips for a first time player who usually goes the stealth route?

Depends on whether you want to go Stealth netrunning (hacking cameras and enemies) or stealth non-hacking, in which case throwing knives are absolutely amazing (assuming you don't mind being lethal). Both are totally valid though.
You'll want to put skill points into Cool, which makes crouch walking stealthier (and also had knives in the tree, I think). stealth camo cyberware too, of course.
Reflexes also helps a lot - honestly can't imagine playing without air dash and the double jump legs cyberware makes things a lot easier, opens up new paths.
There are a few times where stealth isn't really an option - get a couple of boss fights and fights that you can try and do stealthily but honestly may as well just go loud - so it's worth putting points into a gun too.
I'm currently running a knife / katana / SMG (or Assault) rifle build, lot of fun.
My main tip is get air dash (reflexes) and double jump (cyberware) unlocked asap whatever you do. Just opens up a lot of traversal and utility.

Should say, if you do want to go hacking points in Intelligence are crucial.
If you want to avoid hacking entirely and use a Sandevistan or Berserk deck instead you can ignore Intelligence (unless you really love Smart Weapons).
I wouldn't worry too much about it for a first play, you can reset attribute points once per game, and you can resdestribute skill points within the trees whenever you want.

I basically went for Cool, Hacking and Reflex. Basically to hack, move about quick/use a Katana in a pinch and silently shoot people in the back of the head.
Worked pretty well. Though I went a bit completionist and by the end I could just lay waste to a room with a Katana no problem.

I went tech and hacking. I was quite OP with smart guns and quickhacks, I was able to tank the Arasaka raid easily.

A few friends have said it's worth starting in Hard mode instead of Normal as it's far too easy after a while - any truth to this?
Hyped to finally start it tonight!

I'm going to start my next playthrough on Hard. I've found myself pretty OP by level 25 on both my Normal games. Speaking of which I've started another playthrough, even though I didn't complete my first. This time as a Streetkid, going reflex, body and cool for a mix of stealth and melee. Got the Mantis Blades, but they are weak and unsatisfying, perhaps they'll improve as I level up. Throwing knives, however, are super-cool.

The game does get pretty easy as you get more powerful. I'm not really into hard games, but if you know what you're doing its easy for things to feel a bit too easy.
On my first play through since 2.0 I found it tricky as I neglected Body entirely and had a weird build.
Second play through I knew what I was doing but limited myself to blunt melee, Shotguns and LMGs. It became easy at high levels, but I didn't purposefully grind and chase after op stuff.
On my current play through I've switched to Hard at level 50, as I've very much been going out my way to pick up op weapons and build.
With the Apogee Sandevistian, Byakko katana, Erebus SMG and Hercules Assault Rifle I'm pretty much unstoppable, so might even switch it to very hard.
I'd say at lower levels it's trickier, even with the scaling as it's easy to get overwhelmed if you're not careful. But at high levels, if you know what your doing you can outscale the enemies do increasing difficulty is very much needed.

Was hoping I'd be done after this play through but I've realised I've never bothered with Smart Weapons and my hacker build was borked, so I might even need to do another play just so I can do it properly.

Absolutely loving this - put in 20 hours over the last four days! Immersion is second to none.
Feel like I'm at a point where I need to spend the points I've hoarded up and actually commit to a build - so many decisions!

As a ps5 owner what's the best way to get this?
Ps4 disc second hand and pay for dlc? Or just get the ultimate edition?

I’ve been getting deep into this last couple of weeks. I did play it at release but it’s just a totally different beast now. What a game. Absolutely loving it. Might be an all time favourite by the time I’m done with it.
I do agree it gets very easy on normal. It’s tricky with RPGs as you’re supposed to become superhuman by the end, but yeah, you do become very OP in this.

Definitely up there for me too. I'm holding off playing the DLC because I don't want to be done with it.

I’ve dipped back in as well. My initial annoyance of this not being what was promised and not really very close to the original Cyberpunk 2020 has faded away. Doing a male V with blades/throwing knives and sandevistan, which is a world away from my usual assault rifles and quickhacks default.
That said, my most recent “that doesn’t make sense lore wise” moment is how V can cram themselves full of chrome and not go cyber psycho. There’s the cop out of “Johnny is a cyber psycho therefore he kind of is” hand waved explanation but ehhh. It’s a petty kind of pedantry too, doesn’t really bother me unless I recently rewatched Edgerunners.

May be a daft question but I'll ask it anyway.
Do you all use a variety of guns despite not putting perks in them? For example, I've exclusively used pistols and sniper rifles so far as I've put perks into Focus.
I wouldn't mind using the odd shotgun or assault rifle in a pinch but will these feel fairly underpowered compared to the weapons above? Or do the stats of the gun matter more than I think?

I need to get back into this. I did that thing I always do, love it to death (even watched the anime which was great), get really near the end and just stop playing. Its so weird. BG3 was the same.
Had a Sandevistan Katana build which was ridiculous. Could kill about 10 people before the first guys severed head had hit the floor.

The perks do mean it's better to specialise, but other guns can still be very useful and viable. But as you further specialise other weapons will start to have fewer perks. But absolutely the stats of weapons make a difference too. You'll likely end up with 15+ points in several trees, and as you can reallocate skill points is easy enough to experiment and switch focus.

I find at various points in the game I reinvent myself even without respeccing my attributes. It’s that long and there’s enough levels to fill at least three attributes, so you can have a lot of flexibility in weapons and skills, especially as you can change your skills around as much as you like.
It’s maybe more about choosing whether to be smart or tech or power focussed than any particular weapons choice. That does require a bit more commitment to some degree perhaps. Although maybe that’s just more about play style.
Honestly I love how flexible and big and fun it is. I’m having such a ball playing different ways.

I just want to get back on it, play it and absorb the world. Love this feeling, happens less often the older you get too.
Fiancee won't be happy with me this weekend.

Thought they said no more big patches, but here's 2.12 today, weighing in at a healthy 11.1gb on Steam.
