For whatever reason this didn't click with me straight away at launch and I gave up before even getting the melee weapon. Picked it up again today with a clean save and it's definitely making more of an impression this time around. Very nearly got past the first boss on my first attempt at him.

The first boss is the hardest bit imo. Once you get past that you realise the whole first biome and boss preps you perfectly for what's to come.
It's one of my favourite games ever.

Looking forward to getting back on this after the middling Horizon FW. How I wish for more storytelling through intrigue and atmosphere rather then serving up 500 words of dialogue when 2 would do.
Anyway, toughest bits for me were the level 2 boss which I think took the most attempts, and level 5 which has the toughest requirements to pass. 5 was the point at which I wasn't sure I would ever do it.
Honourable mention to level 6 which has the only part I didn't get through using normal methods, and just ran.

Be interested to see what people think of the difficulty on Ascension. Not sure if I've just got shit at it but it's absolutely brutal. Struggling to get further than phase 2 at the minute.

I would imagine we are all out of practice pretty badly given its almost a year since most of us finished it. Jumping back into a game after that time period always takes a while.

First crack at this and I've just beaten the boss to get to Phase 3. Fuck, I forgot how much I loved this game. Hollowseeker and Pylon Gun are still the ones.

This update is amazing. Managed to get the final form of the boss down on my 3rd attempt at the tower. Really happy with that. Phase 4 got silly though. Think I got thrown in against 3 minibosses in the same room, barely survived and then got picked off in the next room.
Easily game of the gen so far and would be very surprised if that changes any time soon after this bit of content.

Yeah the generous price of £52... Ha yeah. It's not exactly cheap but it's now the price of second hand retail copies, which is nuts.
Good point about the retail price dropping in June though. I'd rather (re)own it than subscribe for it, but it makes sense to wait and see if it drops then.

This is my problem. I don't even have any gaming time really just now that I'm gearing up to do more band stuff. Just bought a whole load more graphics & video editing software to do promo stuff...
