Last Spartan Standing is now a playlist option with 2 additional maps which helps mix it up a bit. I think some balance fixes will be in the next patch whenever that comes.

I keep getting Breaker still when trying to play it lol
Breaker is clearly not a 12v12 map, it would work at 6v6 or 8v8 and having a tonne of power weapons spawn at the bases doesn't help either. In BTB it's a total camp fest, warthogs are useless due to all the firepower targeted at you and capture the flag nearly always ends in an unfun stalemate.

Has Co-op campaign been added in yet? Hell no. "Late August target" on 343's most recent roadmap.

Didn't really know where to post this, so the Halo Infinite thread will do. Saw an article on the old place about this video, and it's pretty awesome. Someone built a real working version of the SPNKR launcher and fired it a few times. They even got it to do the barrel rotating thing from the games.

Given the amount of content Bungie put out for Destiny 2, it is genuinely shocking that 343i can’t do better than this. In their first year they will have released a total of 4 (??) new maps and a handful of armour bits. Yes video games take a lot of effort, b it you can’t help but wonder what they’re actually doing with all those people?

I was enjoying the campaign until the random brute twins boss fight. Health bars in a Halo was a mistake. This isn't Borderlands.

Like actual health bars? Or just bosses took more ammo than grunts? Been a long time since I played the original.
But this game really made its bosses more bulletsponges than most.
I do remember facing that same mech boss over and over in 5, and that probably had a healthbar.

You can cheese some of the more annoying boss fights, particularly the melee ones, by finding any high place to grapple to and staying there. I remember one with a doorway ledge and another with a crate that worked well. The AI usually can't figure it out and can't hit you.
If you don't like the hammer brutes wait (minor spoiler) until you get to the end encounter. Seriously that guy made me rage-quit on Heroic.

That's the thing, it wasn't hammer brutes. One of them had one of those giant hamster wheel bikes and the other had a rocket launcher or something.
They were a story boss too, so I couldn't ignore them like you could the bounty bosses.

Ah yeah, those two they were a pain. I remember mostly sniping them from a distance, kiting with the grapple and running back to the nearly structures to find whatever long range guns i could.

Ha, that fucker was like a Benny Hill sketch in the end with me running round in a circle while he chased after me. Terrible fight.

you can’t help but wonder what they’re actually doing with all those people? I don’t think they actually do have a lot of people. Judging by the state of every other game they put out, they have the bare minimum to get the product out of the door and fire them/move them on as soon as it’s released. All seven people at 343 are absolutely fucking hopeless.

I will always give Activision all the shit in the world but when it comes to their major IP, well, COD, they actually have all the people in the world making it and supporting it. I'm still baffled that an apparently major 1st party game is being run in such a shit way.
The more I think about it I'm trying to imagine what would have happened if they released the game as it was back in 2020..

According to Wikipedia they had 400 people in 2016 so that’s a fair chunk (assuming numbers are still similar).
It can surely _only_ be mismanagement. I’m trying to think of ways to give them the benefit of the doubt here but when they have similar numbers (and far greater financial and technical backing) to Respawn or even Digital Extremes it’s just a head scratcher. Where is the content?

Maybe 2/3 of that studio was making the TV show happen?

Coming into this conversation a bit late but there's a lot of talk about 343 not being up to the task... Is that all about the speed of delivery as I thought the actual Halo Infinite campaign was really good (albeit pretty much exactly what I was expecting)?

They got the base game out, but it seems as though these missing features and supporting the MP are a bridge too far.

Exactly. This is the 3rd game in a row they've managed to fumble. It started off so well too.
It's time for MS to do an "Ensemble Studios" on them. They're not good enough.

Which is frustrating because the core MP is brilliant and it wouldn't take much to do the things that would keep the player engagement up, but 343 just keep on dropping the ball. Instead we have thin battlepass seasons that last 6 months but can be completed casually in a couple of weeks, lacklustre and infrequent events, bad challenge design, a crappy MTX shop and lots of missing features around the edges that Halo players take for granted from MCC for example (MCC took them years after launch to sort out, turned out great, just took far too long). 343 are still too under-resourced and slow for what's meant to be the platform's flagship shooter.

They also dont get enough credit for fucking up the MCC on xbox and then years later fucking up even worse on the PC version.

I actually bought the xbox one for MCC and then never touched it again after completing Halo 3 for the 235th time, MP was a total mess.
I think I tried MP on it again 4 years after launch and thought, yeah this is what it should've been at launch.

As if they're going to add ray tracing like they suggested. I really feel that if Infinite had been made next gen only you wouldn't have half of these issues, well the mismanagement issues still remain though.

It looks like 343i has done most of the hard part but presumably can't get it to perform on an Xbox One so canned it completely.

This was my thought, I mean it would've gone down less worse if they just said they couldn't get it to work on last gen. This just makes them look incompetent.
