I’ve had the Playseat Challenge for 5 years now and it’s brilliant. The pedal base isn’t strong enough to withstand the forces of load cell pedals, but I’ve drilled a hole in mine so I can slide some metal rods through the tubes to lock it in place. It’s heavy AF now though with a CSL DD and the fanatec shifter and handbrake… but it’s surprisingly capable!

Looks absolutely perfect for what I want, to be fair. Just need to work myself up to the week long "Look at what this fucking manchild has bought now" daggers I'll get for it.
Will definitely pick that up before GT7 tho.

Had one of those for years, worked great. After a while the velcro sidestraps taking all the tension start to fail. Heads up. If you don't wanna end up a heap on the floor, Got 3 years use out of it though.

Still my favourite type of build.

I need to modify my second hand rig to add a shifter mount, plus I'm toying with the idea of buying an elgato streamdeck as a button box. Still got half a mind to start again and build my own cockpit out of lengths of unitstrut. My current one is good but not absolutely rigid and it bothers me more than I thought it would. Tinkering is part of the fun.

Getting into Assetto Corsa more and more. The amount of mods for it is insane. Happy enough going through the career mode at the moment but I'm definitely going to create some custom championships.

A few people online have said they just used tie wraps for securing and they were happy with the results.

I spent a stupid amount of time in AC just doing the open days at the Nurburgring tourist track online

I've developed serious T300 envy and now I'm sat with one in my basket. I'll be playing GT7 for the next 11 years if it has the content of previous entries with the free time I have, so might as well do it properly. Is that the three pedal version? Where did you find it in stock?

Thanks. I thought the GT versions was the only one with three pedals. Will take a look.

Yeah I've been looking at the one on the BT shop there. No idea what they are like for ordering stuff though so I've been a bit hesitant.

You would definitely want the alcantara over the GT one so paying less is a no brainer. The bigger rim makes a big difference and it really is sexy.

I paid £150 just to upgrade the rim from the standard to the alcantara one and don't regret it.

Yeah? I keep feeling as though having the face buttons directly on the wheel might be more useful. That Alcantara one is very nice though.

Is the GT rim rubber or plastic? I don't mind a rubber rim personally, many cars I've owned had them. But the plastic of the Xbox TX Ferrari wheel felt cheap, like a toy.

I have to admit it is a bit of a ballache not having the PS symbols on any of the buttons, but the wheel itself is very sexy as Decks says. Though you could very easily make your own cutout keyboard overlays like in the old days if it bothered you that much.

The alcantara wheel was very much seen as an upgrade on the standard when it was released. The extra size goes a huge way to making it feel more like a real wheel.

But yeah the one downside is the buttons aren't labelled.

If it's better to actually use that's probably more important than being molly coddled with some correctly labeled buttons. I'll go for the Ferrari then.

I've just realised there's a D-pad subtly just off to the left on the front there as well, thick cunt.

I had the ferrari one messed up from Overclockers so went for the GT from scan as it wasn't in stock anywhere else. I can always get the wheel in the future once I know I'm sticking with it all. Really happy with the GT though.

It's just for the menus that it's a bit of a ballache not having them labelled. You'll not even use them in the game. And as I said the extra size is a huge upgrade and more than makes it worth it. Plus that luxurious finish is to die for.
All this excitement has got me really close to buying T-LCM Pedals. If I had just bought an SSD I don't think I'd be able to hold out.

Jesus, those pedals are purdy.
See, pure gateway purchase this is going to be. I've already got half an eye on the F1 wheel attachment for when I play that.

My birthday next week as well so I'm already weighing up what I can get from Amazon with existing credit and some birthday cash. Definitely get the wheel first and look at the pedal upgrade in a few months.
