I have just seen that Xbox is releasing a wired official Xbox headset. Same design as the wireless headset. May get this for my son for his birthday. Anybody else who is contemplating it?

I have the wireless one and it’s great. The game/chat mixer dial on the left is very useful though to get the correct balance between game and party audio. This seems to have no way to adjust that?
I bought the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal Wireless Gaming headset. It was £100 off, but I logged in the next day and the price had gone back up, but I thought fuck it and bought them, after the year I had last year I needed a treat.
Yeah they're pretty good with the Series X. They don't work wirelessly with the PS5 though, even as Bluetooth headphones because the PS5 doesn't yet support audio Bluetooth accessories, which kinda sucks.
They amazing. You can control them with a B&O app on your phone but it's not very feature rich. I had a pair of Turtle Beach Elite 1000x's (I think that's the model, they were £250), and they were pretty damn good but not as good as these. The TB app had way more features though, particularly mixing in music from your phone, but also more graphic equaliser shit. The B&O does have a graphic equaliser but it's a lot more simple. It does look swish though. There's a B&O showroom local to me, so I went and tried them out. I'd recommend doing that before spending £450. They sound very stable and solid, and they can go up really loud depending on the source. They have lots of presence and bass, but not quite as boomy as I'd like. They sounded pretty darn great on Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite. I also watched Mortal Kombat 4k blu ray with them. Yeah they are equally as awesome for movies, in fact I'd say they are a little better if anything. Also design wise they are beautiful, and so light. They extend really smoothly. They are so light and comfortable to wear is one of the biggest plusses for extended gaming or film watching, you forget you're wearing them. One problem I've got though, is if you want to experience Dolby Atmos with them, you have to download an app on your Series X and purchase a licence for £14.99. I thought that was cheeky as fuck considering how much id already paid, plus I can't be sure it's actually on, I'm going to have more of a look at it this weekend when I've got some time. For chat, my friends said they could hear me fine, even if I lowered my voice. Impressive because other headsets that don't have a mic stalk that I've used often make your voice very quiet and far away sounding to other players. They do look and sound amazing. If they were £350 I'd say they were definitely worth it. £450 is quite a stretch though, but if you've got the cheddar they are amazing for gaming and movies. I'm just about satisfied with them. I'm sure the PS5 will support them via Bluetooth before too long, as regular headphones, but maybe not for chat. I'm going to try connecting them via a wire from the controller, will let you know if that works.
Yeah tried them connected to the PS5 controller via lead (included with the headset) and they work perfectly. Would prefer if they worked wireless of course, but it is what it is.
