They already had killer yo-yos in Octopussy.

It needs to be Robert Pattinson, but I'd take most over Tom Hardy doing funny accents. I do not want Hardy anywhere near it. I like him but he'd definitely give him some kind of 'quirk'.

Hardy’s too old anyway, he’s 44.
I’d be alright with Boyega. I think they need to do something different with Bond and changing race would be it. Going early 30’s would also be different and give them some leeway to get a few films in without the actor complaining continuously about it. If they want to stay with white and well-to-do, someone like Aaron Taylor-Johnson would work.

If Bond were to be black it would be the end of the internet. It would be glorious to watch.

I’d also quite like the next films to feature more 00’s, rather than just mentioning them briefly or casting someone for one movie. It’d be good to give Bond a bit more contrast with a team, and feel like MI6 was an actual organisation rather than one super-agent.

Live and Let Die is one of my favourites too - love it
Only really enjoyed Casino Royale out of this batch. Quite similar to Brosnan’s stint really as only GoldenEye was top tier

It's a shame Chiwetel Ejiofor is too old really (if he'd even be interested in doing it) as I think he'd be an excellent Bond. Totally has the class, gravitas and intensity.

It's not the bond actor we need to be talking about, it's the bloody script. At the moment a headless person on acid could do better.

Say what you like about his dated, er, outright racism, but Tom Mankiewicz was a great Bond writer (and he was a Yankee). All the best puns are his. Connery loved him.
I can't recall a single decent witty line of dialogue in any of the recent Craig films. Maybe Skyfall.

I also greatly appreciated all the OHMSS callbacks. I think that OHMSS would be a great movie, if it wasn't for the fact that George Lazenby has the charisma of a wet sock. If that movie had had any other bond actor it'd have been one of my favorites. I would never watch Bond again with either of those two. I can't stand Boyega (the only thing I thought he was any good in was Small Axe) He was great in Attack the Block too. It made me realize why he got cast for Star Wars. So I don't think issue is him, it's that they gave him bugger all to work with in Star Wars. (which is what he's most known for) I take it this is not worth watching without seeing Spectre first? That's the only Bond I've never seen - missed it at the cinema, and never bothered with it after reading about how it was a disappointment. I'd imagine you could read a plot summary, or watch a 20 minute reaction video on youtube and pick up the main plot points - as long as you've seen Casino Royale. It's a shame Chiwetel Ejiofor is too old really (if he'd even be interested in doing it) as I think he'd be an excellent Bond. Totally has the class, gravitas and intensity. I'd agree with that. Eva Green for Bond

I enjoyed this but agree the villain's motivation is just missing from the second half of the film.

Wasn't there all this talk of the main guy from Poldark being in close consideration? Or has that gone out of favor for the main guy from Bridgerton?
I feel like Tom Hardy and Idris Elba would be top 2. Cavill has the qualities for sure but I dunno about the charisma.

Elba is too old. Nobody over 35 and have a fucking plan in place. None of this 3-4 years between films. Doesn't help anyone.

What if the approach going forward is just getting actors in for 1 movie? Get them out at a faster rate? No continuity between movies, just stand alone Bond movies with a different actor each time. Could whip up some marketing and call it the Multi Bond Verse or something seeing as that's all the rage these days.
And I do realise by saying that, people here are preparing the pitchforks and torches at me.

I really liked the Roger Moore ones as a kid, but watching them as an adult I just find him really sleazy and gross.
Like they should remake his movies with Harvey Weinstein in the role, Same script.

Someone mentioned having them set during the cold war. Not a chance of that. Danny Boyle wanted to have Russian bad guys and they said no. He left not long after due to creative differences.
Just got back from seeing it a second time. Just as good as the first viewing.

I was tempted to watch this Friday, my local cineworld (which is shit) has decided to charge £20 a ticket so they can fuck off.

None of this 3-4 years between films. Doesn't help anyone. Any closer and people get fatigued, the way people have turned on Marvel and Star Wars. 3-4 years apart is fine as long as, as you said, the actor is below 35 before their stint begins.

Wow saw this last night. How could they have done it better? Surprisingly superb and the best Bond film ever, but also a superb film in its own right. Great fun.

Second viewing last night. It mostly holds up although there are still quite a few oddities around Safin's motivations.
