This is starting to grow on me, massively, now that I have a few skills, and all the basic mechanics have been explained and are at my disposal. It’s all very cleverly designed - not always very elegant, though, mind, which Arkane obviously have realized as well, and felt the need to explain a *lot*, even quite a few hours in.

Just took on Charlie. That is a great area. Got the shift slab now. How did you get on with that area? It was the first thing I did after I gained the ability to keep stuff between runs, so I went into it with absolutely nothing to my name and as a result it took me ages. I did spot a 'hitman kill' type scenario in his area but by that point I couldn't be arsed lugging batteries around and just wanted to move on. Just wondering how much the game changes once you get a few powers and stuff under your belt really.

I still don't think I've used batteries for anything.
Re: Charlie's area - it's brilliant. I've done it so many times now and I still love it. Can't believe how I'm still constantly discovering new rooms / buildings / areas in this game. It's deceptively huge.
Been focusing on Harriet and Charlie for their slab upgrades so far, so both abilities are quite awesome now. Managed to snag a gold sniper rifle as well but to be honest it's so noisy I stick with my trusty nailgun.
Had another tense showdown with Juliana that ended up with both of us on a roof, proximity bombs everywhere and me getting annihilated. It seems like she invades more when you go back to kill a visionary you've already killed before, as I'm getting the most invasions in Updaam at noon (because I keep killing Charlie).

His main den was a bit tricky but I have the slab that makes you invisible for a short time, so that was quite handy.

addyb have you messed around with 2-bit yet? Gives you some fun options for that area. Mind you the digital bastard won't speak to me now.

No, I have seen him referenced but to be honest my sessions on the game are so sporadic and I'm constantly doing something different in-game, I am struggling to remember where and what something is.

Yeah I found him in that area but I couldn't get the second option to activate. I did a few batteries but I couldn't be bothered searching for a charging station for the rest of them.

Spoiler if you must but what is the crack with all the batteries in that area? Are they actually used for something? I just ignored them. On a side note, i also am missing codes for lots of doors. Granted I haven't had an extensive look, are they referenced in your notes anywhere?

The rocket in the middle of the 'play area' is actually a real one and I think you can set it off to vapourize all the enemies in that area if you slot enough batteries into it. 2-bit is hidden behind a hackable door I think 1 floor before where you find Charlie.

Ahhh I need to try that with the batteries, I did notice that control panel thing in the rocket as well. Forgot to go back and check it out.

Yeah I managed all the obvious ones in there but there are also battery slots leading up to it that seemingly need to be filled as well. I couldn't find the charger in that area though to bother with any more.

I am loving this. Had a couple of silly moments (killed an invader, got her slab, then risked it all to push on for the visionary as I’d already cleared most of the level and then lost it all), but it keeps dragging me back. Love the time loop. Love the perfectly designed levels. Absolute top stuff.

I might have to play through Dishonored and prey while I wait.

Oh, I'm liking the sound of this. From Kotaku -
There I was, creeping along a cliff on the outside of a big castle-like structure when I saw a single enemy, completely alone. He was standing on the edge of the cliff with his back to me. This setup ranked high on my “kickable moment meter,” a situation which routinely leads to disappointment. How often have games given me an enemy just crying out to be kicked off a high precipice, only to deny me the tools to fulfill my kick-powered fantasies? Thankfully, Deathloop makes no such mistake. It let me walk up to that guy and kick him flying off the edge, complete with a fading scream as he fell into the water far below.
Fantastic! I loved the kick in Dark Messiah, this might be even better!

Yeah now I've started infusing a few things it's really getting it's claws into me. I'm still proper shite at it but I've only done a loop or two. I'm sure more familiarity will make it even more enjoyable.

I've pulled off successive clean kills on Alexis and Harriet. Fully leaning into the measured stealth now.

The 'just one more chunk of this day' urge is real. Is everyone trying to rattle off all the Slabs first to get them infused? Seems like the most logical first step so that's what I'm trying to do.

I'm enjoying this, but it's just too fucking easy. It obviously wants you to stealth it, but why even bother? You can just one tap everyone with an SMG and be done with it. I'm trying to play the way it wants it but there's this nagging knowledge that I can just fucking shoot everyone with no difficulty and no consequences.

DF has looked a little into the potential stuttering issues on PC if that's of any interest to anyone:
