Ha, you must have thought the shield was awful.

I’m addicted. Can’t remember the last time a game did this but it’s now starting to effect my work.

Even with all weapons unlocked, I still prefer the spear but you need to power up it’s primary attack pretty well. Now I’m at the end of level 3.

Only been playing 3 days properly. Once it clicks it clicks. First level is so easy now.

It’s really got to me this game. Loving the old school mechanics so much that I went and bought Hollow Knight for some more old school gaming. £5 in the sale.

I'm completely hooked as well. It's a different game once you've spent time upgrading the mirror to have most of the upgrades. I strung together several escapes in a row last night switching between rail and fists and with the mirror upgrades find it much easier to put together strong builds. It's really to the dev's credit that with the mirror, pact of punishment and weapon/boon variety it has so much variation that the same four levels don't get boring quickly and with so many permanent upgrades even early shit runs are vital to accrue permanent resources so progress doesn't stall like so many roguelikes. Not surprised it ended up on lots of GotY lists.

Have got way too little sleep this week because of this game! Did the third bosses for the first time last night, so find myself at the Styx with 3 death defies to play with. My 'build' is mostly about hangover dot + 400% armor damage on the shield attack, then smashing them into walls. Will inevitably die to Hades later today though.

BTW, if you aren't talking to your fan after every fight with Theseus and the Minotaur, why are you even playing.

For balance, I've had about 3 wet fart builds in a row now.

Errghh, I hate 2nd form bosses. They're just bullshit

Yeah, thought I'd beaten the fucker yesterday, but he kicked my arse after he restarted. Had another go at him since and got closer now I knew to avoid the spinny yellow death lasers.

I went from "oh shit I've completed without losing a life" to "oh shit I've got no lives" very quickly.

I had it down to about a quarter of the health. The build I had was completely ridiculous though.

This was me on the third boss this morning. Similar sounding build too - mine was a spear with hold-for-fast-attack (and therefore no spin attack), upgraded range, and Zeus and Artemis boons that fired off for every hit. Just couldn't seem to get out of the way of any attacks - need to learn the timing...

For the end boss fight, stand behind the pillars, it will block the beam. The 2nd form was bullshit but killed him in the end, Fisted him with the gloves good Not sure I want to complete it another 9 or 10 times more to see the real ending (if thats right?)

Oh man, I just got to Hades and got him half down on what felt like kind of a nothing run. Got through the third boss with 1hp left and managed to keep it going enough to get my furthest yet.

Just bought the fists on my trip down to the bottom. These seem quite decent, basic attacks seem much more useful than most of the others.

Sounds like it will fit in nicely with my 400 X button presses per room technique.
