No Valheim thread yet? Shame á þú!
Just five more sleeps until the Hearth and Home update lands, at which point we can vomit to our heart's content. Mega't bíða!

We had a Valheim thread on The Other Place. I love it, incredible game.
Looking forward to Hearth & Home, although it does feel a little incremental. I want more biomes/enemies/bosses/building materials rather than system updates, but I get they need to do it.

It's the building that grips me. I've got hours and hours in the game, but I've never gone further story-wise than Bonemass. I just love pootling about in my boat trying to find the perfect idyllic spot to build my home. The graphic style in this is amazing (found the low poly models off-putting at first, but the effect is actually brilliant) and sunrises pouring in through the door to my longhall look gorgeous. Then some troll comes and stomps all over it and I have to rebuild :-)
Looking forward to the new building features in Hearth & Home, and hope for many more content packs to come. With the massive uptake this had, there's clearly a demand.

Yeah I agree, the building is my fave but too. Even with the relatively limited palate of materials, you can beyond some amazing things.
I play with 2 other people and we do need the thrust of the bosses to mix it up though.

Well, Hearth & Home is out and the internet is, um, divided on the food changes in particular. There's a very vocal group saying the devs have basically broken the game at this point, but this is probably hyperbole.
On the RPS Discord community Valheim server we restarted on a new world with blank characters. We're building up a little Viking village whilst trying to experience the new content. Early days so far, but I'd summarise as follows:
Good: - The cartography table is great - New building pieces are appreciated (upside down triangles), but really not very many of them for how long this was in the oven, but not yet at the new wood type - Lots of new foods and ways to cook them - Better animal taming/husbandry
Neutral: - Combat nerfs probably needed to the bows
Bad: - Death comes easy, including falling off a single flight of stairs - No, way too easy. Combat might have flipped to being too hard now? Most early game foods seem to give stamina but not much health

Didn't they rebalance to food rebalancing? I'm sure I saw that they were doing that.

Didn't they rebalance to food rebalancing? I'm sure I saw that they were doing that. There was a small patch put out that adjusted it a teeny tiny bit, but not much. The takeaway is that combat is now much harder because you have less health. The devs seem pretty clear that this was their intent and everybody was a bit OP previously anyway.

Interesting. I play with two people, one of whom is really not a natural gamer, so increasing the difficulty will be a real pain for him. Put it this way, we struggled with Bonemass on the current difficulty (although once we figured out what was required he was pretty easy in hindsight).
