I can’t remember much of DS3 at all as I just blitzed through it without much trouble at all meaning that I didn’t learn the boss fights properly
The only one I remember well is the Nameless King as you could get summoned for it immediately every time you put your sign down so I spent days as a friendly summon
I’ll have to play it again one day

I must say relative to Demons Souls (PS5), DS3 feels about identical in slickness to DS:R. Feels very familiar. Very surprised that you say this because DS3 is about 5 times easier to control than DSR. I don't remember the specifics but I bet if you go back to DS1 after you've played DS3 for a while, you'll notice.

Can only agree, I beat Gael on the weekend and there's no way that would have happened with DS1 capabilities. Dude's a nightmare and the last thing you need is to fight the camera as well

I'm sure you're both right about the controls of 1 vs 3, I'm guessing DeS acted as some sort of palate cleanser. I dabbled ever so slightly in DS:R while playing DeS, but that was the very beginning, up until the gargoyles, and that part is super familiar and just sparks joy, so I don't know if I even thought about how it controlled.
Also, I went from Bloodborne to DS2 and that was jarring as hell, not sure if the difference is comparable?

I think the hardest transition is to Dark Souls 2's weird movement

I bet he hasn't even played it. Just trying to look cool 3 or 4 plats but ok I mean if a game needs to reaffirm itself so bad that I - I - have to keep up with it by repeatedly acing it then it's definitely shit

I know that the one after is basically a shit lunch You shut your dirty whore mouth. It's a fucking ploughman's and you know it. You chunter on and on and there's some lovely bits but it's just another (very good) ploughman's. I'm not saying it's bad. I'm saying it's comfort food. Or fast food.

It's not shit though. It's doing it a disservice to keep "warning" people that it is before they play it. I left it until last for that very reason but it is by far my favourite in the series. It's just different to the boring ones

So what do I need to do to stop my big fat knight in DS:R from belly-flopping when rolling? I read I needed “a few” additional points in endurance, and have been grinding it to out to no avail.

No do I need to drop all the hollow warrior armour I’ve pillaged? That would be quicker…

No do I need to drop all the hollow warrior armour I’ve pillaged? That would be quicker… No, only items you are wearing count towards your equip burden. Have you tried taking off your gloves/hat/gloves+hat? They're the least important for defence. Havels ring is quite easy to get to if you have the master key, but obtaining it depends on how good you are at either parrying or backstabbing.

IS DS:R Dark Souls Remastered or Demon's Souls Remake?

I was assuming Dark Souls Remastered but if it's Demon's Souls Remake that would explain my confusion.

I'm still liking DS3 - it's reminding me more and more of Bloodborne. Not so weird maybe, as the level I'm at looks like it is yoinked from BB and the enemies look extremely familiar. It's inspiring me to be a bit more aggressive, and I still have a shit shield anyway (Shields are nice, but not if they engender passivity)
Based on the forum thread/post count DS1 is way better than DS2 - and DS3 doesn't even have its own thread.

I like DS3 a lot. I do think the level design of DS1 is better and DS3 suffers from some really uneven difficulty spikes here and there, but it's much less clunky to play and the post-BB combat just feels better, imho.
I've still not played DS2 though.
