I did the second bell and went to see Ceaseless Discharge
Found out that if you run back to the fog door he sort of falls over and you only need to hit him 3 times to win
Mad that I’ve completed Dark Souls at least 50 times and I never knew that!

I feel like I'm getting a lot more weird ragdoll stuff in the Remastered version than I did in the original. As in, slay a hollow soldier and then he gets stuck to my scimitar while I'm waving it at the next guy, that sort of thing.

That's also in the original isn't it? I remember having a balder Knight stuck to my leg for some time in the parish. Never thought I'd use those words together but there you go

I think it's the same. I was surprised they didn't fix it for DSR

It's the crag spiders in blighty. I can end up with two or three of them stuck to me at once. Then you can just roll around and flick them into the swamp. Great fun.

Ha ok, maybe I just got lucky or didn't notice it as much in the old version.
I had a fall from grace yesterday in Undead Burg. Easily steamrolled through most of it thinking I was The Shit, then got to the Black Knight and got my arse kicked. I was never the greatest fighter in my one previous playthrough, and by the end I was probably quite over-levelled. So there's a bit of relearning and levelling needed before I'll be competent again.

Gifted this to a friend - really happy to hear he’s getting on with it, he even did the capra demon without whining about it! I totally cheesed that fker first time. I discovered the game this year and got real evangelist about it, so I was weirdly invested in him enjoying it. Also fun to get to follow someone else discover this marvel.

I actually did the dreaded Anor Londo archers first attempt yesterday, and O&S first attempt for good measure
Despite staying at SL30 it’s a piece of piss these days, especially compared to Sekiro

I’ve never done it myself, but you can chuck dung pies over Capra Demons fog door and toxic him to death without actually going in there. Going to try it next time.
I’ve been doing the DLC and still loving it. Had 3 invasions, W2 L1 but proper bows and good scraps all round. The only dick invader was marvellous Chester spamming bleed darts at me.

I made a low level Darkstalker called "from the void", so it would say "Dark spirit from the void has invaded", but I've never been able to invade anyone.

Firebombs work too. I don't think I've bothered with a 'legit' kill since Youtube told me about it

Yeah it became sort of an unofficial fight club area, I spent days there once, it was great fun
It’s the area directly after Artorias boss area isn’t it?

Yeah that's right. Me and my boy spent a few evenings there a few weeks ago. It was non-stop.

@retro - yes, that’s it. Chester is a scripted NPC invader on the long narrow staircase but there’s lots of PvP in the same area, down to the big two level building.

Crap, turns out I've forgotten more than I thought. I wanted this playthrough to be unassisted by guides, but I've got halfway through Unread Burg and now realised I didn't even check out the graveyard in Firelink Shrine. Just completely missed it.
I can do without the Zweihander but the winged spear would have been nice for my DEX wanderer. Might need to cheese it a bit with walkthroughs after all

Grab the Estoc from New Londo Ruins. Love the Estoc (until you get Velka's Rapier, which my fave weapon in the game)

Yep I was just thinking that - although while I was winging it the other night I may have killed the Undead Merchant... got a sweet Uchigatana from him, but I guess I've lost a source of knives and firebombs.
Alcohol may have been a factor. Don't drink and play Souls games I guess!

Defeated the butterfly, on to Darkroot Basin.
Seems like the DEX build doesn't have the same variety of weapons to mess around with, have I got that right? It's been Scimitar and then Uchigatana for most of the game already, and might be a while longer judging by the other weapons I'm finding? Whereas if I was on STR I'd have gone Battleaxe --> Claymore --> Black Knight Sword --> Zweihander --> Black Knight Greatsword already.

Uchi is awesome, can grab that katana from upper Blightown as well, Iaito? Spears are good for dex as well, handy in corridors. Black bow of Pharis, Quelaag's Fury Blade, Chaos Blade, and all the pokey stuff, all good reasons to go Dex

Iato is a good shout, and yes to be fair I have a few spears to mess with.
And speaking of bows - they added a weird incongruous wall in Undead Parish that makes it harder (but not impossible) to get the Drake Sword by shooting the dragon's tail. It must have been added post-release because the walkthrough I'm following doesn't have it. Seems a bit of an odd decision? It's still possible to shoot the tail, and the wall looks REALLY out of place, almost like a glitch. Wonder what else they've changed in the remaster post-release.
