Is it just me being picky but there is something incredibly off about Snake's face in all the promo stuff. The bandana is creased...wrong. It's creasing like it's his skin, making it look like his head is melding with his bandana. It shouldnt crease vertically like that. It's annoying.
I'm not saying it could potentially stop me playing the game but it could potentially stop me playing the game.
It says in the beginning of the trailer that it's not actual gameplay footage so you're good. Looking forward to the mental breakdown from the usual crowd about how Eva's tits aren't big enough.

Looking very nice. It does look like a total 1/1 rebuild so it will be interesting to see how they are going to approach the difficulty. With modern controls and it built fully around a 3rd person camera, there's a danger it will be piss easy.

Can you invert the fucking Y axis on this version? Buying the PS2 original and not being able to play it was something I wasn't happy about.
Obviously this is rhetorical as if it can't I'd be astonished.

Yeah Subsistence was a lot easier as a result too. This one also has shown they've added crouch walk, which will add another layer of easing the difficulty. Hopefully the AI is made to be much more aggressive in their patrolling.

Maybe I'm in a minority, but to me it just looks a bit fan made? Ran through UE5.. yeah it looks fairly nice, but it doesn't spark an excitement.

No I agree, something about it definitely feels like Konami hired that man to do it up. But aware its 'Pre-Alpha' (as if) and reserving full judgement until its closer to release and actual gameplay is shown. I guess I'm more interested to see how the likes of the Boss, Eva, Volgin etc will all look. Plus what do they do for how will Codec calls be handled, will equipping camouflages and healing wounds be less menu driven etc

I'm not going to completely shit on it.. yet. I think this is more coming from my love for Kojima, and the originals. I remember years ago getting trailers on an OPS2M dvd etc, and devouring every detail for MGS3. The trailers teased you into where this was going.. pure cinematic joy too.
I don't know where I stand on some remakes actually. I recently played Dead Space, and it just felt overly familiar, to the point where it wasn't that fun to play.

I'm a bit wary that it's a 1:1 remake which screams to me they didn't want to rock the boat and annoy people even more. So at this point it does come across as a UE fan project.

I've never played it either. Owned it back in the day and got as far as booting it up, but just wasn't in the mood for lengthy cutscenes and codec calls.
Ditto for MGS2... Don't think I finished MGS4 or 5 come to think of it.
It has to be up there with the DMC series for games that I liked but never finished.

Interesting. I've always found 2 to be a slog and the bosses were nowhere near iconic as they were in 1 and 3. Like there's nothing in 2 that matches the fight with The End.

MGS5 is the worst in the series I feel. Best game to play, sure, but a story so dependent upon all that came before and yet ultimately not really contribute that much to the story or Big Boss that it can be skipped.
