Unlocked some Heirloom shards from a random Apex pack last night - just need to decide what Heirloom to unlock now.

3.5 years later, nearly every battle pass maxed out to 110 and maybe £50 or so spent on the game finally got my heirloom shards.
I’ve no particular main but use Bangalore, lifeline, bloodhound, fuse and Valkyrie on equal rotation and the stress of choosing which heirloom to go for is pissing me off.
Might just leave it in bank to save me the regret on any wrong choices!

I’d go for Bang’s new skin. It’ll be the next one I unlock, I think.
I have Bang’s, Lifeline’s and Blood’s heirlooms. Valk’s is nice though. Lifeline’s is a the least good of that group, imo.

Not sure how useful it will be or even if I've done this right but I've created a Apex Fontgeek discord channel seeing as you can chat on Xbox using it now and hopefully Sony get it on PlayStation soon and some may have headsets that allow for dual connection anyway plus of course the PC players who can use it as well. discord.gg/7eQZn6qxjZ |

More stupid questions to add to my long and distinguished list thereof:
- How similar is this to Titanfall, gameplay-wise? I know Titans and wallrunning aren't present, but is the general movement and gunplay comparable?
- How easy (or otherwise!) would it be for a friendless n00b to get into this, pairing with randoms and jumping in for the first time?

Similar but different. It's slower than TF, and time to kill is much slower due to the armour system. Guns are the same, and behave similarly, but there'll still be a learning curve.
There's a lot to learn at this point - 4 maps, 23 characters (though you won't have all unlocked) and lots of gameplay systems. It's not just BR though, they have a mixtape playlist of TDM, Gun Game and Domination, though these are smaller and faster paced.

Yeah I think you get enough of the free currency to unlock a new character every 20-25 levels, can't remember exactly. Other than that it's all cosmetic and optional.
If you want to get into it i'd highly recommend watching a couple of streamers/pro's on twitch. I've learnt a lot from that having only started in playing in season 10 myself.

I've mainly been watching Mande recently as he's European and on during the day if i'm working from home and I also watch a fair bit of Nicewigg as he does a lot of watch parties for tournaments and the practice matches a lot of the pro's do (scrims). There are quite a lot you could choose from though. I think Imperial Hal and Sweetdreams are probably the most popular but i've not watched much of them. |

Extesyy is the most impressive solo player I’ve seen.
All are controller players.

YouTubers are better to watch once you know what you're doing I think. I didn't find them as good to learn from as it's usually them just showing a perfect game which isn't an accurate reflection. Dazs is probably the only YouTuber I watch to learn and that's because he has teaching series on his channel.

After a bit of help here...
My son has 2 Apex accounts as he started on Switch, but then wanted to play on Xbox after a Xmas present last year. The Switch account is a higher rank and has more legends so I'd like to log him in to that version on his Xbox.
Is this possible?
The plan is to gift his remaining Xbox Apex coins (by purchasing/gifting 2 new legends) to the Switch account today, and then UNLINK his xbox profile with the secondary ea account, then link that xbox to the old EA account with his Switch connection.
By doing this, would he then be able to log into the Xbox using the EA account with the Switch progression?
*** We aren't bothered that the current xbox progression will be lost. We just want to confirm that the progression made previously on the Switch will then be available on the Xbox when we log in. ***

The highest ranked account becomes the main/only account after the merge, you can’t choose - so this would be the Switch account. All cosmetics (with a couple of exceptions listed on the page) and characters are merged, but all Xbox stats and stat-based badges will be lost. If you have different EA accounts behind them you may be in trouble though. You’ll need to go through EA support as unlinking/relinking will just end up with lost data post cross progression, meaning you’d lose all of the Xbox stuff.

Yeah this is why the guides haven't been super helpful in this case (but I really appreciate the response!).
We are using 2 different EA accounts because that was seemingly the only way to play on Xbox after we'd created a Switch account a few years ago.
We're not fussed about losing the xbox account, we just want to be reassured that if we disassociate the lower rank Apex account from the Xbox account, that we'll be able to log into his Xbox with the Nintendo linked account. It's quite fuzzy on that, but is linked in a way to cross progression.
What makes it a (admittedly low level) concern is that once you unlink the xbox from the ea account at base level you apparently lose or your stuff by design.

It's because of the way the back-end works, but I believe CE can do it without the loss, you just need to go through the official channels rather than trying to do it yourself.
Just wait for the cross progression to happen on your account and see what the results are. As said, they're rolling it out across existing accounts in waves so if you've not received any notification in-game then it's not occurred yet.
