I'd pay 15 quid for the three.

I'm definitely interested but I'll wait to see what happens with pricing and availability first because I know I'm just going to play GTA 3 and probably never touch the others. The more 'character' they gave the protagonists the less I liked the games. Furthermore, I just prefer the GTA 3 environment, there's less copy paste which was an inevitable consequence of further and further expansion of the map in later gamea. At a glance I always knew where I was and how to get to where I was going just from recognising buildings and streets, it's a curious thing to have a map of a place that doesn't really exist in your head and feeling as familiar as anywhere you've lived. When I got SA for the PS4 (I think?) from the PSN, it was a surprise to find I could drive around the cities and much of the countryside without any waypoints or using the map, what must've been a decade later.

I could probably still find my way around those games, but really they're incredibly small compared to GTA IV and V.
They seemed huge at the time - SA in particular. But I remember playing the Steam versions and being amazed at how comparatively small they were.
Especially if you'd used mods to extend the draw distance.

£55 for better graphics and controls? You've got to be kidding.
Where do I pre-order!?

GTA IV didn't really seem any bigger, admittedly as soon as I could afford it I just took a taxi everywhere because I couldn't be bothered with the driving and it's 'improved physics'. You couldn't really cut through traffic or pull off close maneuvers anymore so you ended up constantly stuck queuing in traffic at a red light.
So, I'm sitting in a simulated queue at a simulated traffic light in a simulated city. Next gen thrills right here. Taxi!
I was pretty much done then so I never bothered with GTA V.

Rockstar do know how to make good trailers, I went from "meh" to "where can I preorder" after watching that. Bastards.

I guess I'll give San Andreas a go then. If I start early enough I might have time to unlock more than one achievement before it leaves Game Pass.

There's not much that can be done about the look, the series has transitioned from a cartoonish caricature style to something that looks more naturalistic over the years between GTA 3 and GTA 4.
Changing that would make a lot of characters unrecognisable.

Has the trilogy already been available to buy? The 'The Definitive Edition' and not 'Editions' is annoying me

I don't like the character models either. The reflections on the cars, the weather effects, that's all great. But the characters look like 80s claymation. They could've just uprezzed and left those alone otherwise.

They look like something out of a Clash of Clans advert.

Have they confirmed if the full soundtracks are in? If Vice City has it then I am in.

They've pulled all the existing versions from digital stores though haven't they?

Prior to this announcement, you could've purchased GTA: The Trilogy which contained the PS2 versions of all of these on PS4 as well. I might just stick to those, unless the controls have vastly improved for these remasters.

Looks appalling on a big screen, HD TV and the controls are kinda pre-historic and not a little bit janky, but if you can put up with that, it's as good as it ever was. Model aircraft missions and stupid flight-school notwithstanding.

I’m sure they’ll all end up on gamepass at some point. VC is the only one I’ve never finished (because one bit was really shit).

That's where I got my approach to exercise and stuck to it. FYI it doesn't work.
