Hadn’t turned on the PS5 in months and it prompted me for a controller software update first thing. Maybe it’s that.

Probably too young but he seems pretty well rounded and I daresay I watched alsorts of inappropriate things at his age. And you turned out just fine with your death watch lists, random temper tantrums about formats and cheesy views on masterpieces - right?!

I played a bit more today and managed to open up someone’s neck with a shiv before dragging it across their windpipe, stomp on someone’s head to see it splatter like a watermelon and somebody wrenched the veins out of my neck with their teeth as I screamed. I’m not sure 18 is vital for all that these days but personally I wouldn’t go a huge amount younger 😬

No nudity though, that’d cross the line apparently.

Ah. So weirdly I have just quit to the main menu, went in there and the haptics were set to on but also the bow was set to on. I put them both to off, then back to on, then loaded my save. Works now. In game did nothing but from the title menu it sorted it. Maybe a glitch due to me continuing from an imported save. Wasn’t a biggie but as it’s one of the features of the upgrade it’s nice to have it.

No return mode is great if you are wanting some straight up fighting but I am struggling to get far with it. Unable to get up to the boss part of a run.
It is extremely random and hard to judge where the next wave is going to appear from. The infected ones are definitely tougher.

Weirdly this seems to have black borders around my screen. The arrows when you adjust display just stop a cm or so from the edge of the screen. It's the only PS5 game I've had this with, everything else is fine.
Oh well... Nothing for it I suppose. Time for a new OLED TV.

I've had about 9 runs now and have only reached the boss once (was close, but didn't complete it). No grumbles though as I am enjoying the mode thoroughly.

Admittedly he had everything set to easy but the youngest blasted his way through The Hospital quite proud of him.

Just about to tackle the hospital now. I think I stopped playing after that in my previous attempts. This game is relentless at times. I can manage something like 90 minutes, but then I need a break.

Get past the hospital and then you're kinda nearly there tbh, considering how far you've come.

If you want a bit of help in No Return when you unlock Yara you get Lev with you every time, you need to upgrade his skills to get him to be a bit more deadly but he runs interference. Only problem with Yara is her crafting absolutely fucking sucks, so you gain an additional helper but you're not making stuff much.

The TLOU2 doc is up now. Seems interesting so far. Obviously spoiler heavy!

It's very good and well worth watching, some fantastic swearing from Halley Gross when a certain article is brought up.
Still can't quite believe that an original idea for the sequel was to make it like Bloodborne.

I'm replaying this and am about an hour into Abby's section. Regarding the remake, it's a stunning looking game and runs beautifully, but as others have said, this is how I remember it on PS4 (minus the noise)! I appreciated the game rather than enjoyed it first time round, but this time I am absolutely loving it. It helps when you know what happens and the pace of certain sections. First time round I was latching on to any glimmer of hope that something uplifting would happen, and by the end I was spent, emotionally. [/span]Whether I still feel like this at the end remains to be seen. It's ridiculously complex and ambitious to tell this story from these two perspectives, and to force you to engage with their trauma. I don't think there's been a game of this prominence to attempt such a thing, it really is like a elite level prestige tv show.
