Great voice but you wouldn't want to share your cocaine with her.

Some of mine (for metal heads):
Queensrÿche - Scarborough Fair
Heir Apparent - The sound of silence (Simon & Garfunkel cover) - sorry Disturbed
Type O Negative - Black Sabbath (Black Sabbath Cover)
Nevermore - Love Bites (Judas Priest Cover)
Metallica: Turn the Page
... and since Antony Vincent is mentioned:
System Of A Down - Chop Suey! (In the Style of Ghost)

Bob Dylan originally, but nobody talks about his version.

I love those Screaming Females covers. Such an underappreciated band.

I thought everyone agreed to forget Numetal happened and move on?

The Breeders have done some amazing covers
Better than The Beatles....
Better than The Who....
Better than Guided By Voices....
And sticking with Kim, the Pixies cover of David Lynch's In Heaven is spectacular

Another vote for Johnny Cash's version of 'Hurt', which I somehow overlooked in my initial post.
On a related note:
Nine Inch Nails - Dead Souls (original by Joy Division)
Bonus points for being on the soundtrack to The Crow, which is back in the news right now following the tragic Alec Baldwin incident. I loved that movie as an angst-filled teen - hell, I'd probably enjoy it now as an angst-filled [redacted]-something.

I don’t really like the Cash version, the original is already perfect imo

A bit obscure, perhaps - or maybe not? I really have no idea - but I'll take any chance I can get to post this band:
The Screamers - Sex Boy (original by Germs)

I don’t really like the Cash version, the original is already perfect imo I think it's the video as much as the music (for me, at any rate).

I agree on Hurt, but it's something that's almost taboo to mention because people had so much admiration for Johnny Cash, and he released very soon before he passed. But to me it felt like he didn't add much to the original apart from removing the ambient noises and changing the words "crown of shit" to "crown of dirt," which doesn't have the same impact.
I always liked the Diamond Dogs cover Beck did for the Moulin Rouge soundtrack.
