It's 5:10 in the trailer. I don't enough enough about the genre of music so maybe hip hop is the wrong term, Japanese instrument inspired EDM maybe? Leaving aside that you give this music to Yasuke, I just think it clashes with the setting and isn't a good fit, like it's too modern sounding for something in game as opposed to a marketing trailer. Having listened to that music from that section that's in no way Hip Hop. It's definitely a fusion of modern sensibilities with traditional music, I honestly don't see an issue with it. They've been doing this for quite a while with their soundtracks.

Yeah what Jambo said, the soundtracks have never been entirely era specific, and would often use modern production and sounds mixed in with the more era specific instrumentation.
The way some people are talking about the "hip-hop" I was expecting some DJ scratches and mumble rap.

Ubisoft capitulates and issues a statement in an attempt to plactate to the mouth breathing outrage grifters. Why appeal to the people who were never gonna buy your game in the first place?
I'd be curious to know what Japanese gamers actually feels about this and not just the ones pretending to be Japanese in the Twitter comments. Considering Yasuke has featured in Samurai Warriors, Nioh and other games, anime, movies and novels it would be hard to think they would really care about his inclusion "disrespecting their history" or "using their culture as a plaything" as people claim. If they can accept him being a Samurai in these instances then why would this one be a huge offense? Nobunaga Oda has been portrayed as a literal demon lord to an anime girl too. Just reminds me of Ghost of Tsushima, only it was people on the other side of the political divide acting offended on behalf of Japan and then it comes out there and it gets universal praise to the degree that the Director is made an honorary citizen of Tsushima. So long as the portrayal in AC Shadows is done with respect then it shouldn't really matter.

Just like Stellar Blade, just like Starfield with its pronouns, just like Resi 4 Remake having an Asian woman voice Ada, all this bullshit will pass as soon as the game comes out and the grifters have run out of engagement to farm and they'll move onto the next thing to get the stupid and bigoted angry about.
Anyway have we got back to the people of...the Holy Land, Italy, Iraq, The Caribbean, China, Russia, India, North America, England, Egypt, Greece and France to see how they feel about having AC games set in their homesteads?

So how about Kassandra getting to compete in the Olympics then? /s
I wonder if any of the complainers are familiar with the Fate series at all... Go take a look at, say, Raikou from there and then come back to me (although the fact that googling "Raikou Fate" triggers freaking SafeSearch should be all you need...)

Never mind Rise of the Ronin this year where I'm doing sick air combos with Ryoma Sakamoto and Matthew Perry on the same team.

So what's the concensus for AC Mirage, better on Xbox Series X or PS5?

I believe it's the same regardless its essentially a ps4 game in its technical makeup. I bought it for ps5 and yeah had no issues and I couldn't see the xbox having any issues.

I think it's the first AC game I've completed in a long fucking time. Origins was my last completion.

Delayed until Valentines Day for further polish. Also coming out on Steam on release day too which is a departure for them. Dont think it needs too much to be read into it, no doubt its a big game that they have a lot riding on and want to make it right.

Nothing wrong with that, you only get once chance these days to make a good impression. The funniest bit are the absolute brainrotted people truly believe that Ghost of Yotei being revealed yesterday made them delay it.

As if they could do anything about it anyway, they can't just change story, animations, cutscenes etc on a whim and meet the deadline. Shadows is too late anyway given Tsushima did it first. The Season Pass model is being removed too. It really does sound like Ubisoft are banking on this pretty hard to be a big success if they're going all out to win people over

By all accounts the relative misfire that is Star Wars Outlaws seems to be the reason for this delay more than anything. I feel as if they assumed the branding would get them more sales but I guess the initial reviews were just fine and the run of the mil gameplay coupled with the high price and the knowledge that Ubisoft games drop heavily in price quite sharpish may have had an effect.

If anything, delaying Assassin's Creed Shadows into 2025 - the year in which Ghost of Yotei will *supposedly* arrive - makes less sense, rather than more. It sounds as though the softer-than-expected sales of Star Wars Outlaws have panicked Ubisoft, who're now more desperate than ever for Shadows to stick the landing.
EDIT: Jambo beat me to it!

And Ghost of Yotei will only be on one platform, so I'm not convinced it would have a huge impact. I honestly didn't even know it existed until I saw it mentioned above (though I do largely ignore gaming news)

Yotei was only announced last night
One platform to start with, although I'm sure it'll come to PC at some point; still, I agree that it's not an issue for Ubisoft right now.
Ubi really need to put a check in the win column, and it looks as though they're banking on Shadows being the game to do it. Kind of wild that they still seem to be reeling from the Breakpoint debacle five years on; equally wild that Yves Guillemot is still at the helm of the company.

The base building element they revealed looks crap.
And I'm the one who loves base building in Fallout 4.

*Honest Trailers guy voice* "This Valentine's Day, embark with your most trusted significant other on a journey across Japan paved with blood and death. The couple that slays together, stays together - Assassin's Creed Shadows." /s *cough* Anyway, that just means more time to enjoy the other games coming out around that time, so thanks, actually, Ubisoft!

I don't think a couple of extra months will do any good, unless they are hitting the cutting board and removing a lot of extra fat (like side quests or game systems performing below expectations) to offer a more streamlined and robust experience.

Taken from that Reddit post:
Could easily be nonsense - it's Reddit, after all - but could just as easily be true, given the state of Ubisoft right now.
