1842 hours of Spotify this year, I'm glad I don't pay by the hour.

Glad to see punk still being mislabeled all these years later.

Glad to see punk still being mislabeled all these years later. Actually it's not as that was my most listened genre, just none of that I listened enough to crack top 5 I guess. I tend to listen to just whole albums so it waters it down.

All of my top songs are from a playlist we play while getting kids ready for bed...

Mine is basically my daughter's playlist. She listened to 19 hours of Dove Cameron. Fair play. AC/DC and Stone Roses were my only entries in the top 5. 5000 songs, 32000 minutes or something.

My main takeaway from social media tonight are all the weirdo’s that listen to podcasts on Spotify rather than using a dedicated podcast app.

Can't play different music in different rooms if you're on Spotify

Mine is pretty funny. 21k minutes, 950 artists listened to but because I’ve barely left the house this year, my most listened to music is split evenly between easy listening techno for work and old bangers I can shout to in the kitchen while I’m cooking.

My main takeaway from social media tonight are all the weirdo’s that listen to podcasts on Spotify rather than using a dedicated podcast app. I feel I have to defend the weirdos! Look, show me a dedicated podcast app that is as versatile as Spotify. Come in listening on my phone to a podcast. Put on the Xbox and cast my podcast to that whilst playing. Remembers my place and also which episodes of specific podcasts I have played. I accept that it feels weird to pay for Spotify, when a significant proportion of it is listening to media that would be free elsewhere. But hey, I pay for it and I appreciate the convenience. Also, Spotify do a fair few podcasts you can't get elsewhere. (But you are right. It is a bit weird. But it is also the modern way)

Even the basic ass Apple Podcast app that comes pre-installed on all iPhones does most of those things. Besides the Xbox thing, anyway. But I'm also a weirdo who prefers iTunes/Apple Music over the alternatives, so there you go.

Casting to the Xbox is an important of my gaming flow, if you will. I play games whilst either listening to music or podcasts via Spotify. It's a rare game that makes me not listen to the games own soundtrack. Funnily enough, I have used Podcast Addict in the past, back before getting rid of the ads was a one-off payment (which I paid), rather than the yearly payment he wants now. And Podcast Addict is great, but handing over to other devices is not so great. I have a bunch of smart speakers dotted around the house, and nothing beats the ease of casting from one device to the other that Spotify allows with Spotify Connect-enabled devices. There just is no competition, cubby.

I get it. Especially in open world games like AssCreed and Forza Horizon, I tend to put a long podcast on and just go. Usually with my phone right next to me though, rather than on the console.

I share my house with my light sleeper of a partner and my son who is only 9 so needs his 9+ hours of sleep. Because I am sort of considerate I have got my gaming headphones and that is how my podcast listening happens
