I've had this for ages, but only just got around to actually trying it. (though I did play the old boardgame once or twice a a teen.. a long time ago).
It's very random (which I remembered), but it's also very very long (which I didn't).
One thread said 6 hours for a game!

Oh God, Talisman. I have this on the Xbox and there's only one save slot for online multiplayer. If you start playing online with one group and want to play with another online, the first group's save file is wiped. The first game I played, I kept playing for six hours just in the hope of finishing the fucking game as the host had another online match the next day. I gave up and lost all my progress.
Cretinous decision. Is it the same way on PC?
I think it might also have the worst UI I've ever seen in a game. Staggeringly bad. I don't know how a team can be clever enough to make a game, but not clever enough to fix basic things that stop people wanting to play it.
The shame is, it would be fun if not those two problems. Randomness is fine as long as you can control how long you have to deal with with.
EDIT - The characters are also just photographs of the actual playing pieces. Appears to be the same way for the board. It's charming in its own way, but it also feels a bit slapdash.

CDkeys is doing a sale. Nothing popped out as amazing, couple games on there that run okay on deck, like No Man’s sky, the recent Doom games and RE:Village.

The Sherlock Holmes games are on sale pretty cheap on Steam at the moment, you can pick up most of them for a couple of quid each, except the most recent one.

Is there a steam equivalent of deku deals where you can create a wishlist and get alerts of sales on games?

If you wishlist games directly in Steam you usually get emails when they go on sale. I seem to, anyway. Might be able to get alerts by 'watching' titles somewhere like here too (not tried it though, I've just used it to check price histories): steamdb.info/

Oh rly? Will try that, although I don't generally get emails from steam, and I've had it since half life 2.

Oh. Maybe it's something you have to opt in to in the steam preferences.

I get emailed whenever my steam wish list games are on sale. Literally just got one about No Man’s Sky.

isthereanydeal.com/ is the standard, i think. Though it can be a bit over-complicated at times.

Steam, GOG, etc... will all email you if wishlist games go on sale. The advantage of something like ITAD is that you can combine all that and cut down on the emails, and you can set price limits etc.. so you only get notified when they drop to/by an appropriate amount.
It can be a bit of a faff to set up, but I think it'll import your Steam and GOG wishlists.

Or if you're into retro stuff, all the old x-com games plus both Hidden & Dangerous games for $1. I wonder if they've patched the bugs out of H&D yet?

Even the demo on the dreamcast killed you for jumping down a slight incline.

I'm sure I had to use my dreamcast keyboard to get my head around all the controls in Hidden & Dangerous

Me too. I remember setting up my Dreamcast with the keyboard and mouse on a desk one weekend just for H&D 😁. I think I died a lot.

Need for Speed Heat is currently 3 quid. Seems reasonable price. (Usual price on Steam is 60 quid, which is not reasonable. So 95% off...)

Finally a good month for me, three games I wanted plus two I have a passing interest in.
I can't find the giveaway thread for some reason, so hit me up if you would like a Steam copy of Monster Train (oh, and Epic Chef and Golf Gang I guess):
Monster Train has been claimed.

Should we turn this into a general PC Bargains/Bundles thread, or should we use the general Bargains thread (which for some reason never comes up when I search for 'bargains'? Either way, the new Humble Bundle is a great deal if you somehow don't already have all the infinity engine games. Planescape & Icewind Dale for $1 plus Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Neverwinter Nights, etc.. for $10 plus a new Pathfinder game for $20 www.humblebundle.com/games/rpg-legends-baldurs-gate-beyond-bundle

Halloween Sale is up, and just like clockwork it means the whole service dies for an hour or so.
