I've found that the downward dodge seems to work in the vast majority of situations up to now. Trying to read exactly which way you are supposed to move is way too hard.

Ha, going by that trend you'll need to learn to constantly perfect parry whatever fucker is hiding behind door number 4.

There's only up and down for dodging despite what it it looks like. It threw me a bit too. Glowing arms are just to signify a big attack I think.

24 is the best I’ve managed to finish the squats in. I kind of felt a bit disappointed as I did that by learning the game a bit more, the stagger and blocking, which meant I then “gamed” it. I died a lot fewer times, but also felt less like I was in a kung fu movie.

Dodge down with the big guys. They are an absolute piece of piss. Only tricky if there are other guys bothering you at the same time.

On a sidenote, I’ve always liked the artstyle since I first heard about the game, but I am surprised just how gorgeous it looks when you play it.

Yeah, although I will re do the club until my starting age is better. In fact I might just go back to the squats and kick some heads in. Oh and got another key for the club. Had to beat 2 hard bastards for it. Not sure where this is for though.

The game saves checkpoints (watch the small animated icon in the lower right) during normal play. When you are at one you like, backup the save (e.g. to USB or to "the cloud" (for which you then want to disable automatic syncing)). Then should you fail to do what you want, you can restore the save and retry without doing through the whole level.

Hang on, that's like reloading a Champ Man save when you've lost a big game!

I just download a saved game right at the end before the final punch is thrown and win with a single button press. Dunno why you suckers are even playing it.
