Absolute bedlam in the Shadow Fortress last night. Complete darkness with hordes of angry goblins, fire raining down from above, screaming pawns, screaming pawns on fire, hulking beasts tossing pawns around like rag dolls, hulking beasts on fire. I could go on. Standard night on DD, def worth the £6.58. Sounds like Glasgow on a Saturday Night.

How essential would you guys say mods are for this? I started it on PS3 but absolutely love it so far (it’s kinda Demon’s Souls meets Kingdoms of Amalur) and know the PC version looks way better... think I’d rather play it on PS3 unless DLC and mods are essential?

They are not essential in the slightest. I played it for a couple of hundred hours on the Switch with no mods and loved it.

Same from me. If you are loving it on PS3 crack on I’d say.
I’d say I wish i could hide helm slots, which i’m sure there is mod for, but it all adds to hilarity of the game.

Awesome, thanks so much guys! I'm going to do the barrel into the wall glitch to get that particularly good item that boosts XP at the very start (I've already made my way to that island) but after that I'm just going to play it through normally

Never heard of the barrel in the wall trick. Also, finally got my last strider vocation point, so got all the strider skills I wanted, managed to remember to get and upgrade a ranger bow, switched to ranger and started on the ranger skills now. Forgot that almost straight away you get the 6 flurry shot. Oh, how I've missed firing multiple arrows at high speed into goblins faces. Payback time now, you fucking bandit bastards

Maybe "barrel" is a euphemism Can't say I've heard of it either. Can't say I've a clue about the game still. I'm a rank 10 sorcerer with no clue why I was.

That's why I started again on a different console. I needed to get back into the swing of it

In fact, I genuinely don't understand how this doesn't have a sequel yet.
It was fairly well received by critics, overwhelmingly received by players, sold more than they expected it to and it has its own animated series!
Give it to me.

I need to get back into it. I've no idea where I left off. Fannying around somewhere no doubt.

I haven't played this, yet have purchased both the original and the updated version on Xbox, do you think it's still playable, are pawns still available? I might be tempted to start it, now that Elden Ring has loosen its grip on me (not really)...

It's showing it's age but as someone who only played it for the first time last year, I can confidently say yes on both counts.

+1 to what Wunty said - I played it (the remastered PS4 version) for the first time in 2020, and had a lot of fun.

The pawns are what make it really. It's like herding a group of disobedient children around.

It's just got hilarity built in as standard. Some of the stuff the pawns come out with is fucking hilarious. And watching massive rumbles kick off when you've got a really aggressive party is second to none visually.
The combat is satisfying as fuck as well. Skills are all really good fun. World is great. Has *proper* nighttime where if you haven't got a lantern, and oil to supply it, you're fucked.
I picked it up again - but I can't remember if it was on switch or PS-4/5. I'm at the everfall, probably underlevelled, but no idea whereabouts I am quest wise.
I should fire it up.
Maybe after elden ring

Picking up unsuspecting passers-by, slinging them over my shoulder in a fireman's lift, and carrying them about the place never grew old. (Neither did lobbing them off rooftops and cliff edges, come to that.)

Yeah anything that makes enemy's get knocked back is always a go to for me. And I'll always try and use my bow skills to ping someone in the kisser to send them hurtling off a cliff. It's beautiful.

That's for me and my pawn! Off a ledge you go.

Since this thread has been bumped, I have a bit itch to scratch with this again. I must complete elden ring first, but I think this is going to be the next thing to resume.
