Here come the reviews! 2/5 from The Graun, The Verge say it’s solid. God, Bradshaw is a terrible reviewer. Also why the fuck is he writing plot points about the movie?

I just watched the Dan Murrell review. To badly summarise, he seemed to be saying that when the director is allowed to direct, it’s decent but when the studio mandated HEY, REMEMBER THIS? bits are shoehorned in it sucks pretty hard.
The feeling of it determinedly forced into its franchise box seems to be quite overwhelming. The ongoing Disneyfication of everything, I suppose.

I like Bradshaw a lot, but he is not your man for mainstream film opinion.

I can't stand Bradshaw, he sounds insufferable.
just watching shillup's weekly news video, there is a film being planned based on the gametrailer for Kingmaker (thats the game set in medieval times and some guy in a pick up truck runs the knights over and uses machine gun on them)
I'm surprised there has never been a forza horizon game, sure Uwe boll is not busy

The Crows out in 2 days and still no reviews.
Going with a 30-40% RT

Embargo runs out at midnight on Friday UK time, not sure that's a vote of confidence.

Late to the party but I also hate Bradshaw and his giving away the plot while missing the point reviews.
I did spot that after his two star review the Observer gave Romulus four.

Saw the crow trailer at Alien Romulus, looked awful, another film that looked as though it was made in a board room.

saw a comment on reddit about the new crow film, "its made for the tiktok idiot generation"
The trailer looks like utter shite, perfect for Borderlands double feature showing!

Isn’t something being made for the TikTok generation the exact same sort of comment our parents would have made 20 years ago, but about MySpace?
Things change, being good or not doesn’t.

Yeah, I've seen a few comments about Eric is in a rock band and he listens to Nine Inch Nails, and now he's a rapper. It's not really integral to the story, sure it sets the tone, but I have seen the other Crow films, which tried to be like the first one, and they were shit.

I read his review after seeing the film. His closing paragraph suggests he either watched an unfinished cut with several scenes removed (unlikely) or simply wasn't paying much attention.

I think the most egregious in terms of pointlessly spoiling something I can remember was his House of the Devil review giving a description of the end of the film.
Admittedly its not a huge twist if you know horror but you don’t really expect a review to tell you how the film ends.

Ahh the key sentence "filmed two years ago" plus that reviews were only allowed today tells you everything you need to know about this.

Saw Romulus last night and while not perfect it was good fun. The movie also kinda has Ripley in it with the Narcissus shuttle docked in the station.

Re: The Crow, any time the Guardian and Empire give a film exactly the same score you know it's probably on the money.
So it's most likely shit, unfortunately.

Wood looks like he's playing a younger version of Batman Returns' Penguin.

Noisy, crunchy food in a bucket that emits a light? Yes, this is ideal cinema food.

Based on how much some of the Deadpool buckets cost, that thing will be a hundred quid without the popcorn.
