I was surprised by how much success I had low profiling your teleport tbqh. Kept expecting it to get stuffed. Sim feels a lot more “fragile” in the air than he has in the past for some reason.
Also I looked it up and HDR on 360 was 14 years ago. Good fucking god.

Yeah I was very surprised to see that. But I guess Guile isn't really a pickup and player character and charge characters aren't inherently popular judging by how low they are in the rankings.

Yeah, looks like it. I got my cheeks absolutely clapped by a chun yesterday, 20-0. The guy fully converted into a full drive rush combo from every fished low forward, some weird overhead nonsense id never seen before and some annoying corner head stomp business.
I hesitate to say he was a cracked player but fully optimal, 100% converted combos every time is a touch sus. But, yeah, he made chun look godlike.

Drive rush is something I'm never going to be good at to use in a fight confidently and it seems almost essentially to whip out those massive combos with a lv3 for like 50% damage. |

Yeah, it was battle hub. Good practice, though. Like I said on the other page, the main difference was the damage output. He cashed everything out when he got the chance and just melted my health. Every low forward turned into 30%.

I just had a sesh with user Vandelay, twas good GG dude. Question for anyone using an Octa Hori pad I've noticed something while playing with it and I've finally confirmed it now, for some inexplicable reason when I'm playing a game online the buttons will be fine until after a while some buttons will just register as another action. So for example I have R1 mapped as throw and L1 as Drive impact and I'll use it for a while and it's fine but then it just turns to Drive impact and L1 doesn't register when I'm pressing it. Is my pad fucked because this only ever happens online never offline. |

I just had a sesh with user Vandelay, twas good GG dude. Yes, GG. An absolute trouncing, but fun. Went back to some matchmaking games afterward to nurse my wounds and actually get some wins. Ended up playing a bit of JP and was quite enjoying him. Perhaps a trickier character to handle than some others, but his abilities force me to think a bit more about spacing, so good to actually learn some fundamentals. |

Had my first dip online in the battle hub after a few training sessions with Ryu and got completely dismantled with someone who actually knows how to use him. 0-10.
Did a little better against E. Honda but still got smashed. 0-7.
Still searching for that elusive first win!
Where do you find the ranked matches? Thinking it'd help more if I matched up with people of a similar skill level but unsure if I find that via the Battle Hub or somewhere else.

You have to go into Fighting Ground. You can also search for casual games there. I've not done any yet, but I guess those use matchmaking too.
Had some more enjoyable games with JP. I have a feeling not many people at my shit tier level are playing him, as many of his moves seemed to catch people by surprise.

Weirdly enjoying the nonsense of World Tour for some reason. Still early, though.
The Arcade mode stories are, ummmm, short? I just did Cammy's, which end with fighting JP ... who was a complete bastard.
I'm absolutely shite at fighters, so not yet ventured online; happy to see that my pathological block over performing forward double quarter circles still remains. Guess I'll just watch others do those Super Arts lol

You just have to bring up the menu in the hub and turn ranked matches on, then it will constantly scan for matches whilst you're there. |

I'm struggling with Drive Impact. I just can't seem to trigger it in time. I'm getting bested by a friend who already has his head around it. If it was a straight up fight I think I'd be doing alright, but throwing the Drive system in makes me second best all the time. Practice Practice Practice!

I can get my head around Drive Impact and Drive Parry but Drive Rush is a little beyond me, certainly at the minute. I understand it but execution is a different story.

My biggest struggle is against players that just constantly push out OD moves and drive impacts. They get into burnout and I feel suddenly like I should be on top of the game, but it doesn't seem to slow them as much as I think it will. Plus, my general lack of ability to do combos means I never really capitalise in the unlikely event that I do stun them. Can't even realiably do a super, instead normally just doing a regular special move by accident.
