Yup, my wife also. Although most of those she went to drama school who are still working are mostly single and/or don't have kids. She doesn't regret her life choices. Yet.

I would have been a famour musician now if I hadn't worried too much on getting a good education and then a job. Well, that and wasting too much time playing football and going down the pub, rather than you know, learning an instrument. /not taking the piss cubby - this is based on people I know who went down a different path to me and it all worked out for them

Getting an education and a job to support oneself have got to be two of the most unrewarding experiences in life. I don't blame young people for choosing not to work, if the recent statistics paint an accurate picture.
The story that sums it up for me is JK Rowling's path to fame. Single. Unemployed. Young child to support. Yet instead of getting a job, she decided to claim child benefit (presumably) live in cafes, and write her way out of her predicament. I'm not sure if it was a wholly courageous thing to do, or wholly irresponsible, but it worked out for her.

To be fair it is easier to write from cafes when it's owned by your brother in law, less likely to get chucked out.

Coldplay. Again. Emily does seem to love em.
It's about as poor an initial line-up as last year, and nearly everyone I would want to see I have already seen, and quite a few I have tickets for coming up too. Including The Breeders who are indeed still going strong (their last album was great, though it was 6 years ago now).
Still gutted I didn't get tickets this year though.

Looking forward to making full use of iplayer over the next few weeks to catch up with a bunch of performances.
There's Glastonbury, football AND the start of the tour this weekend.
Whoop whoop!

Sugababe Siobhán Donagh has aged incredibly well.

LCD Soundsystem on now... Wishing I was there!
BBC's coverage is absolutely top notch though, so I guess that'll have to do.

Sugababe Siobhán Donagh has aged incredibly well. I’ll get ripped for this no doubt but they’ve always been great live IMO and have some really good songs. A cut above the pop bands of the time in terms of singing and particularly harmonising. Plus they have Keisha, which is always nice. Band sound great too. I’ll hand my metal credentials in on the way out.

bopped my little socks off* today to confidence man, sugababes, LCD soundsystem, Bombay bicycle club, pj Harvey, and more
*from the comfort of the living room
edit: Heilung!!! if Eurovision was held in the neolithic. This would be absolutely amazing with just the right amount of acid and absolutely terrifying with too much acid, seriously west Holt's right now - it's Hellblade the musical

Used it as an opportunity to pass them on to my old man. He loves bjork, sigur ros etc so it was a pretty easy sell for them. Glad I watched it. Saw them last year but couldn’t always see what was happening so good to see boobs.. I mean a clearer practise of what’s going on. They’re ace.

I’ve never heard of Olivia Dean until I just saw her on the I player coverage. Will have to check her out as I thoroughly enjoyed her set.
