Yeah, I'll really miss it.
Nintendo's E3 2004 conference is one of my favourite memories full stop.

Is this the right thread for discussing all the upcoming shows then? Not E3 kicks off in three hours.

It starts at 7. I'll probably be watching for the inevitable sense of disappointment and seething irrational hatred of Keighley.

I don't get the Keighley hate at all (though the Dorito/Mountain Dew product placement left a bad taste) - he's actually written some great stuff over the years and actually gives a shit about the industry.
Easy target I guess.

As a total "n00b" (did I use that correctly?) when it comes to the gaming world, Keighley strikes me as a smug, obsequious self-promoter. I'm not disputing that he gave a shit about the industry at one point, but he seems to care solely about cementing his own place in it nowadays.
Ah, well! Each to their own.
Any major hopes/guesses where this evening's event is concerned?
I'd like to see one or more of the following: a God of War Ragnarok release date (unlikely); a Dragon's Dogma 2 announcement (possible); Drakengard remakes (unlikely) and/or Nier reissues (ditto) being unveiled; and some sign that Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming to PS5 at, or close to, launch (fuck knows).
I'm not counting stuff like The Witcher 3, Splinter Cell, and Tomb Raider, as CDPR, Ubisoft, and Embracer won't have any presence at the event insofar as I'm aware.

Some news about Silksong would be great. Absolutely loved Hollow Knight and really looking forward to what they do next. People seem to often think there might be an announcement at every Nintendo Direct for some reason, but I could it appearing at a Game Fest.
Don't really have much expectation of what will be shown. Maybe some Elden Ring DLC would be nice though.
Hoping there will be some new stuff, not necessarily franchised. As expectations are being lowered, I expect big name stuff is going to be fairly absent. Very little coming out of the big brands will be surprise announcements I expect and it will be mostly games already know about. That might allow some new IPs and smaller games an opportunity to shine though.

Dreamcast 2 with day one releases of Skies of Arcadia 2, Powerstone 3, a Toy Commander sequel and a new Bangai-O. Throw in a new Project Justice too.
Banjo-Threeie.
Guardian Heroes 2.
Bloodborne 2.
New F-Zero.
My predictions are always wrong; may as well shoot for the stars.

They are saving F-Zero for that Nintendo Direct where they show off Metroid Prime Trilogy and 4, announce all Nintendo Rare games being remastered, a new Star Fox game, and Mother 3 is immediately available localised on Switch, with Mother 4 in the works.

You're forgetting the Ocarina of Time remake and Eternal Darkness 2 but otherwise that's pretty spot on.

I guess something by id or Arkane, Fallout 5, Borderlands 5, but none of those are on the cards

I think Quake is their next game after a job posting for a celebrated old series of games. I would definitely be up for some gothic as hell shooting in that beautiful engine.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if the Quake port we got was it or if there was something else. Makes sense that they'd rekindle awareness of it if they were going to make a new one though

Makes sense that they'd rekindle awareness of it if they were going to make a new one though I believe that port was by Machine Games who have done the Wolfenstein games, so yeah as usual it was one of the games to see if there's a demand. I mean we can't end the series of Q4, that was some hot garbage.

Yes, more gothic Quake would be great. Never got on as well with the Strogg stuff and disappointed that they never returned to the style of the original (besides some Quake 3 Arena levels).

The use of next-gen 2 years into the gen is a bit silly.
