Is the DLC/Season pass worth £40 or wait for a sale?

DLCs are good, season pass 1 anyway, I prefer them to the main story to be honest. Season pass 2 is a rather underwhelming in comparison. There are on sale regularly though, wouldn't pay full price. The take-down events are kind of end game really, usually best at max level and with a proper 'build'.

The take-down events are kind of end game really, usually best at max level and with a proper 'build'. I thought max level was 50 but I'm at that and still earning XP. I know the DLC increased it but is it applied in the base game too? The takedown enemies are 51 I think but I assumed enemies are leveling with me now
What's the best way to work towards getting the better/build quality equipment, a full replay on the higher difficulty/mayhem mode or specific points in the game?

Playthroughs won't help with that, to get your top gear you need to farm specific enemies/bosses (except for a few items that are strictly random world drops).
Well, the Cartels event involves killing semi-regular enemies appearing randomly in the stages, so to pursue that you can basically play any content that isn't boss fights or trials or whatever. Some of the best gear in the game is dropped by that content's bosses/mini-bosses.
And level cap increases affect all content including the base game. Most increases were through DLC but I think a few were through free content like the Maliwan Takedown.

They should be selectable in the main menu, like this: You may need to be online though, not sure about that.

I'll have a look, cheers
As an aside, I love the character designs in BL

I've started BL3. What's the best character for destroying the shit out of everything that gets in my way?

All of them are good: Endgame, maybe Zane is strongest with Amara weakest but not a huge amount in it.

I think Amara is probably best if you just want to run headlong into combat, although I do that with Moze anyway and just pop Iron Bear when it gets lively

One thing I forgot, probably the easiest way to get an OP weapon: if you keep tipping Moxxi, she'll send a gun to your mailbox. One of those guns is an SMG aptly named the "Crit" and that thing's absurd. If you're a really filthy cheat, switch to Mayhem 10/11 before and switch back to the level you want to play at after getting it. In case you're wondering why it fell on the floor while shooting, that's one of the weapon's traits, sometimes it slips out of your hands.
Mind you that using OP weapons can make building a character moot for most of the content, but tedious farming becomes much less tedious with them.

I just got the DLC so I'm going to do all that next and finish TTWL (had to start again on XSX)
What classes did you play TT as? Graveborn feels really ineffective so I switched to Stabbomancer/Brr-Zerker again
Are Frette and Valentine made up for Wonderlands? I haven't seen them in BL3 anywhere

I played primary Spore Warden with secondary Stabbomancer. I think Frette and Valentine are new, don't know them from anything else.

Downloaded and installed all the DLC and that's a lot of new stuff
The Moxie DLC was excellent - some great characters (Freddie!) and the usual dumb but fun quests. Cool boss as well. Really good DLC with its own contained story. They even recorded new lines for the player characters
I've got another XP bar now (green one), which I have no idea what for and a new 'failed hero' (or something) screen, which I think are just challenges that you can complete to unlock stuff
Going back to events, you can activate events offline, so how do you farm with the cartels one? Just activate it and don't turn it in so you keep getting the enemy encounters?

Oh yeah and I got Lucky 7. Replaced Hellwalker as my main weapon

The green bar earns you chests which you can open in the rightmost menu tab. They contain keys which you can spend on stuff in the same tab, or sometimes they give you eridium. The Cartels event is always available, if you turn it in you can just talk to Maurice again to start anew. You should do so for farming because you'll get several of the minibosses in the mansion each time, they also appear sometimes in regular maps but not as often. It's them and the boss who drop the great stuff, the boss has a bazillion HP though. I also just remembered that Nootmad's Youtube channel might be a good source for Moze guides. I know basically nothing about Moze but I believe he knows what he's talking about. Always keep in mind that some info in older videos may be outdated because of patches/buffs/nerfs.

Took me a little while to work out what was going on in that far right menu. Weird system to open the boxes to get the keys but I guess it adds an exciting random chance to get multiple keys?
I was playing around with Fl4k earlier and one of his pet attack call outs is "That one was talking shit!" Caught me off guard and nearly had me in tears. Borderlands is so magnificently stupid. Then you get something like the Heart of Gold quest or the birthday party one
Can't be far off the 100 hour mark and haven't slowed down yet

Just started the cartels mission; there's so much good music in this game

Cartel boss only took a few seconds with Moze once he was vulnerable (about level 60). Bit longer with Fl4k (level 13) but no sweat. Got some good stuff too
Where do you get gold keys for that chest in Sanctuary? There's a similar one in TTWL

Gearbox and Randy Pitchford tweet expiring codes for that, I don't know any more, never cared

That's a disappointing conclusion to that particular mystery I think Maurice is my new favourite Borderlands character
Which reminds me, does the gift you give to Marcus from Maurice make a difference to anything?

Maurice is great, especially his comments during the Broken Hearts Day event. No idea if the gift makes a difference.

Couldn't find anything online either so I guess it's not important
Krieg DLC was pretty good but I get the impression I'm suppose to already be invested in the character. I'm guessing he's in BL2. I know Maya is playable. The train level was freaking great though
Couldn't get into the back room after the boss - figured it'd have something to do with finding all the things for Tannis, which I did, but no dice

Started playing Borderlands 2 and apart from the guns not feeling quite as good and some quality of life features, it still holds up really well. Looks great with the HD texture set as well Went with Mechromancer for my character class and she's coool so far, even though I'm dying a lot, mainly because all the guns I've had reload sloooooow and it doesn't seem as generous with them as the third game. Was tempted by Gunzerker as dual wielding was something I thought would be cool in BL3, but robot Bonerfarts had me giggling for a while

Gaige takes a while to get going, once you have a few levels and can get a big pile of anarchy stacks up + close enough + nth degree, she gets kind of crazy. For some reason I loaded up BL3 the other day and decided to do a sniper only playthrough, kind of sucks for about 6 levels when there aren't any snipers though, ended up punching things to death for a bit. It's forcing me into a different playstyle, which is quite fun.

I just unlocked the Anarchy skill and my current weapon is a Jakobs shotgun- it's not the best gun but it stacks Anarchy very well. Highest I've got so far is around 40
The things I miss most from BL3 are the soundtrack and the slide

Can get to 600 stacks with maxed skills and the right class mod, bullets basically go everywhere apart from where your crosshairs are. It does a get a bit silly at that point

Getting hundres of anarchy stacks now and finally unlocked Discord so I can stop accidentally losing them opening a container. Love how her call outs change as your anarchy increases (or you lose them)
Started a Gunzerker as a secondary character and dual wielding is ace
Got a couple of questions
When is a good time to do the DLC? I've done the Halloween one as I jumped there out of curiousity and I think that tripped the quest being available, which was level 15. Will they just be around whatever level I am when I first go to the location? Also, what's the max level in BL2?
Any particular badass stats I should invest in/avoid? I've got 72 ranks to spend

I love playing Gaige, probably favourite out of all the Borderlands games, but Sal is the most OP I think
DLCs will scale with you but have a min-max level on normal (first playthrough), and TVHM. Their initial level will be set when you first enter the DLC zone.
Scarlett: 15 to 30 Torgue: 15 to 30 Hammerlock: 30 to 35 Tinas 30 to 35
Scarlett and Torque you can do any time you like (I usually do them when I'm getting underlevelled for the main story), but there are a few spoilers in Hammerlock and big spoilers in Tinas so it's recommended to play them after the campaign.
Max level is 72 but you will need to play the campaign 3 times to get there, Normal, TVHM, UVHM. Badass ranks are minor buffs, throw points in gun damage and critical I guess, but it's really not important.
edit: oh headhunter packs, do them any time, the Mercenary Day one is great for farming stuff.
