First impressions shiny.
Got as far as doing the intro fight which was fun and the sequence just after.
Need to fiddle with some post processing effects to turn them off as I hate all that shit.
Hit 1.4 million players on steam last night which is absolutely crazy numbers.

What's funny are the grifters claiming this as a victory for their side as the games not woke apparently.
Now the #4 highest player count of all time

That was a surprisingly informative review for EG.

TBH, I enjoy reading EG reviews nowadays, regardless of whether I agree with them or not.

TBH, I enjoy reading EG reviews nowadays, regardless of whether I agree with them or not. I still find it a crapshoot of who you're going to get. I think Tapsell is their best reviewer currently.

It's a very positive first impression but I need more time with it before I can say. Will try and post some further impressions tonight when I get home.

Played for an hour or so, on and off, up to the first boss. I quite like it so far, though I'm obviously very early in. Stunning visuals, and the VO is decent (I started on Chinese but switched to English after the intro). Combat is nice, you unlock upgrade points pretty quickly and consistently, but I have no clue if I'm spending them smartly atm - just upgrading things that I want to try, and they're mostly all incremental. Playing on Performance (Quality and Balance are also available) and it's fine for my tastes (it's not 100% smooth but it's more than playable, though I'm also in the most linear part - according to the reviews it opens up from Chapter 2).

Boss one is down. More goes than Iām proud of but thatās probably going to be my general experience throughout. Itās already got the ājust 10 more minutesā appeal going so Iām into it.

Nice. I'm tempted, but also too tight to fork out Ā£40+ on the pc version.

Played a bit more, got one boss down and had a brief go at another. The boss was actually fun and not too taxing, didn't outstay it's welcome either.
Really quite enjoying what I've played so far, got a week off now so can get properly stuck into it tomorrow morning.

2nd boss down, again was a really engaging fight. Got him first time by the skin of my teeth.
I'm pretty sold on this, it's certainly it's own thing and feels really nice to play.

Just past the giant gold bobblehead now.
Really enjoyed all the bosses so far and none have been too stressful.

I'm struggling with the Wight, I literally have not managed to dodge his palm blast once, I just can't work out the timing.
It isn't affecting my progress, I just ran past him, but it is needling me.

I've finished the first area now, getting all the bosses. Hardest one for me was the poison one.
Not even close to souls like difficulty so far, which is a good thing as I just want to enjoy the ride.
It's really good though, I think Quaddy and Wunty would like it even though it's boss heavy as they are epic but not too stressful.

Are boss battles sealed areas ala Souls?

Progression bosses, yes. Optional are often just in world and can be avoided.

I'm playing on pc, was only Ā£41 on there yesterday.
I'm into the second area and done a few bosses there now too. Still not found anything overly difficult. I had one that I died to when it was one hit away 3 times in a row but that was mostly down to my stupidity.
Made it through the rat village and it's bosses but have to go out now so won't get back on until tomorrow.

PS5, on performance mode the image is a bit shimmery but it plays pretty well. The camera felt a bit odd at first but I soon got used to it.
