Started the Dragon's Dogma 2 trial earlier- why do the cat people have human hair? And they have human ears so they don't look right with 'bald' heads. And they have fur under their hair. So much weirdness
At least you can call them Bitey Face

Nobody Saves the World (PS5)
Great game, unlocking new forms and levelling up their powers before mixing things up by combining abilities is fun and addictive. Build options seem almost infinite. Nice humour and presentation too, and everything's very polished. Absolutely massive world map as well. The game was a bit cheeky when NPCs guided me to a colloseum and told me I had to pay an entrance fee, and clicking "yes" took me out of the game and to the PS Store page for the DLC. To be fair I may end up buying it.

Gambling is a mug's game, people.
Given that last year I won enough to claim every piece of the High Rollers' Outfit and a Rancor mount, plus so many loot drops of the same unique speeder bike I was able to mail them to most of my alt characters, and even a Rodian with a bionic leg for a companion who I can only assume had been living inside the gambling machine for some reason, it probably was too easy to obtain stuff previously, but now...
So far this year, after cramming about 350 chips into the gambling machines at the Club Vertica casino over three nights, I have won... ten certificates. I'd get a better return if I went down to Ladbrokes and put an accumulator on a three-legged rocking horse.

Drangon Age Origins (complete edition) strangely I only ever sunk around 10 hours into this many, many moons ago. I have started a new run as I remember feck all and as I say barely started. I have gone for a human woman for the first time. Only just played the first major battle. The highlight so far is the writing, most interactions leave a smile on my face with some being comedy gold hopefully I will stick with it this time, although I will be mixing it up with other games...namely Dishoned complete edition Love the franchise, never completed the dlc to the first game so decided to play from the beginning again, feck low chaos though, I just cant do it. There is nothing like using your series x and ps5 to play games that are well over a decade old

I’m back on Powerwash Simulator, thanks to the new Alice in Wonderland DLC. Again, it’s a tough sell to anyone that hasn’t played the game, but it’s pure escapism and perfect for when you really need to switch off.

I feckin loathed it 😂 I was playing to get my daily cheveo Gamepass quest and after 20 minutes on the Park level I had an epiphany and thought "fuck this for a game of soldiers" far more things to be doing with my time, like playing Frog Detective lol

If I had played that game as a child, I might genuinely had considered it a career. Now, it would merely be an expensive hobby.

The carousel was great. Just pointed it the right direction and watched it clean. Can't get my head around how meta lazy that is.

I was leant the Avatar game from someone at work. Only played a couple of hours but so far it has been fairly good and it is certainly a looker. Had a couple of timed missions which I loathe, although not too hard, the jungle is certainly easy to get lost in and I had a restart or two.
Playing it on survivor(?) mode to try and reduce the Ubicons from cluttering the FOV.
Elden Ring DLC needs to get finished though before I can get stuck into Pandora, which is a hard thing as ER keeps giving more stuff to do than I would have thought.

I have a few lances to try out, really should have bought some wellies though.

Playing AVP 2010 for the first time since getting it who knows how many years ago. Finished the marine campaign thus far. It's ok enough, but the level design is too linear and overall you feel too overpowered for this type of game, even on Hard difficulty (most of my deaths came from combat synths, not Aliens or Predators).

I played AvP 99 a short while ago, which I remember loving at the time. Even as a marine the movement was so fast and slippy that the first thing I did was run off a ledge to my doom. Good times.

Was it AvP 2 where you play as the chestburster? I vaguely remember chomping away at someone's chest.

Yes, in AVP2 you start as a facehugger. It's also the best AvP game overall.

The first descendant
Normally I don't stick with free to play games but managed to keep with this longer than I thought as just unlocked the complete all missions in Vespers area. Also have not paid anything as its all the mtx seem to be cosmetic. The same old mission types is a little repetitive but the cycle of shoot enemies - get lots of nice loot - level up, is keeping me going

Completed Doom 2016 a few days ago and haven’t had time to game. Been looking through the backlog and always had this in mind but yesterday I started Armored Core 6 again, having never finished it. It was a game that I loved on release but something else came out or happened that made me stop, such is always the way. Anyway it’s so far as great as I remembered. I view it as Ace Combat for mechs.

A game that screams ‘buy when 20 quid to me’. I’ve actually seen a boxed version for 32 quid in Asda and nearly bought it. I think it’s probably easily worth that sort of money from what I’ve seen of it, but backlog. Edit - Avatar

Edit - Avatar what a coincidence, I started the free trail today (not sure if it is for x amount of hours, as it was part of the free weekend Xbox does) played about an hour ? just escaped into actual Pandora have to say very impressed, like the story and it looks great, as all Ubi games do. I do agree re pricing, my biting point for things I do not desperately want is typically £20-£25 (see also Bainishers GonE). It is £37 on amazon at the mo, I can wait

The novelty of avatar will wear off when you get a bit further, the combat is pretty poor and the massive enemy camps that get alerted as soon as you fart get really annoying.

I'm still playing the occasional session of Far Cry 2 here and there while trying out other games as well.
Yesterday I did manage to finish off the northern map. I had been sent to kill the faction leader, which is the last main mission on that map and I did arrive during a pretty dark and rainy night. When I eventually had made my way up to the house at Goka Falls it did turn out that there were absolutely no guards anywhere in sight. Certainly not up front. So I just snuck in and one silenced headshot later it was done. Then the game decided that that would be way too clean and a whole load of armed people suddenly noticed that something was wrong. I suppose the designers thought that was too important an occasion to let the player get away without some fireworks. Anyway, some of them came into the other room so I blasted them with my Flamethrower and almost burnt the whole house down in the process. After that I tried to stay in cover and threw out some grenades through the windows. Eventually I just lost patience and ran for the bridge that connects the house to a path down on the other side. Had to shoot one of them on the way out and just kept running as I had to gun down another as I was crossing the bridge. One or two of them kept firing, but it surprisingly didn't result in more than some grazes and I was able to get down the sloped path without any further trouble.

Wait, have they finally implemented next gen fart technology without the infamous lag or frame time variance we saw with last gen consoles? Awesome if so, been a long time coming. Don't suppose you know if they are using path tracing to simulate the fulcum of the sound distortion and/or if they've implemented any PBR in terms of how the fart does or doesn't affect the geometry meshes for trees/shrubbary - and if they've nailed it from a spatial audio perspective as that was another thing lacking last gen (unless you had a One X of course which has the dedicated SoC solution for accurate simulation of gas/vibration?

Just trying my 3rd session on kill the justice league but it’s just painful how bad it is. Doubt I’ll continue but I’m waiting for something decent to happen outside the great cutscenes. Possibly one of the worst big titles I’ve ever played.
