I've gone back to Kirby and the Forgotten Land after being distracted by Dragons Dogma 2 and Jeanne d'Arc. Forgot how good it is to play, there are cute ideas on nearly every level, definitely a high watermark for 3D platformers. Another Switch game I sat on for the best part of a year and it turned out to be amazing.

Dabbling with Star Trek Resurgence while taking a break from Stellar Blade. After resisting the initial urge to turn it off as "wow for a PS5 game this is a poor looking PS4 game" it is actually not half bad. Will let you know if it's not half good either at some point! I think PS4 is generous when it comes to how Resurgence looks. I did enjoy it though. The woman’s story in particular felt suitably Star Trek-y to me even if at launch it was very glitchy and I think both alien races were a little over designed. Its kind of surprising that it took so long since the original TOS adventure game for someone to think this is the perfect genre for a Trek game.

Tried Rayman Lemons in singleplayer, after only ever playing co-op with the kids.
It's a totally different experience! It feels a lot more controlled and slower paced, rather than the random insanity of co-op.

In an update to one of the longest-running forum sagas since Jambo popped into his local supermarket and went, "Ooh, a Toblerone - haven't had one of those for a while!", I finally started Stranger of Paradise.

If they don't involve killing Chaos we don't want to hear them /jk
And now, the end is near... And so I face, the final curtain...

Dome Keeper (Steam Deck) This is ridiculously addictive! Feels like I woke up and decided to try this out, then blinked and it was nearly the evening.
Little Kitty Big City (GP) It's not actually all bad... Started off playing it to get a daily achievement for rewards, but I find myself playing longer after I get one each day.
SMTV Vengeance (SX) The lack of any kind of autosave caught me out and reminded me why I probably drifted away from it... Clunky manual save every few steps it is, then! Need to prise myself away from Dome Keeper and give this a proper go.

Then it got mentioned on Crate & Crowbar and apparently Pip Warr was a writer on it.
I will say, from the small amount of videos I saw, it does seem to have captured a Japanese city quite well. Even lots of cones.
Not sure there is much climbable ivy though.

Just started last mission in Fallout Tactics.
Having lots of fun, enjoying the progress, but the game is far from being great.
I have custom fixes applied which did fix all of big bugs but there are few minor ones. But at release the game was completely unplayable from what i read.
But game runs stable on win10 without tinkering so all is good.
It is also a little mess plot wise.
There was some heavy handed conent cut and they absolutely were not able to story patch what was left.
SPOILERS
biggest example is a Reavers faction. Raiders who turned to worship of science and tech. Pretty cool designs and concept and there is lore associated with them but
They are in two missions only. First they just show up as enemy without any justification and second you need to save them from robots. And game treats them as old enemy, like they played important role in plot. I think at least 2 missions maybe more were cut.
Slightly less jarring is introduction of robots as enemy.
At first we are hinted on stuff out west being a threat to wastelands.
And then out of nowhere. Its Robots. Their boss is Calculator and their base is vault 0, the one we are actually searching for ourselves.
There was a rewrite and they just had to find a quick way to make story work somehow.
But I am glad that I chose to play it. It is satisfying blowing and melting enemies up

Quite a mixed bag. Got tons on the go, with the irony being I have less time than ever at present. Everything is basically getting the odd wee look in when I'm in the mood and have a few moments. That said:
Thank Goodness You're Here! Loving this right now. Very silly and just an absolute joy.
Wo Long Finishing up the DLC but probably going to park it now I'm at the last boss and he's kicking my arse. Don't really have the patience.
Rise of the Ronin So this is going to get started instead as my main "big game"
The Withering Rooms Picked this up after noticing it was on sale and me being too cheap to buy it on release. It's a 2.5D RPG rogue-lite horror thing and it's absolutely fucking superb so far, and very bloody creepy.

So with the (fairly) recent announcement of Gears of War E-Day, I decided to replay the original trilogy. Finished the other day Gears of War Ultimate Editon which I thought was good, 7/10. I am now about 3-4 hours into Gears of War 2, and I now remember why this one was my favourite in the series, it is just sooo good. It plays like a dream and is full of great moments, level and enemy design. Really enjoying it all over again. It also plays in 4k60 so looks great to boot still, especially when you descend underground. Plan to play number 3 as well which I cannot remember much about and then may even replay 4 and 5.

Xbox Series X. So Gears 2 & 3 are running in back-compat mode. I played 4 and 5 originally on my PC but will replay them on the Series X as well.

I hit the Locus city "Nexus" last night. It still impresses even to this day. The level design and architecture is top notch, even by today's standards.
I forgot just how much I loved this game back in the day and I am genuinely surprised how much I am enjoying it all over again.
They really improved on everything going from Gears 1 to Gears 2. Bigger in scope, larger enemy variety, more impactful story beats, fantastic set pieces.
I think its genuinely one of the best 3rd person shooters of all time.

Dome Keeper is turning into a bit of an obsession. 24 hours played since firing it up for a "quick look" on Saturday. Some of the modifiers are quite fun and stop you from repeating the same approach (although 9 times out of 10 I'll start with the drone dome)
Excellent little game.
