Splitgate
It's the Portal meets Halo game the internet has gone wild about. And it's good. Actually also feels like Quake/UT with its movement. Really scratches and old school FPS itch.
What's more annoying is the F2P menus covered in the usual crap - overwhelming amounts of colour, stars spinning, messages from the devs, offers on currencies etc etc. It doesn't interfere with the game, but the menus are a pretty cumbersome experience.

Is it worth creating a thread, looking to organise gaming nights? With rotating games? Or one specific game? Do we want to game with each other and talk to each other?

Currently bouncing between Cyberpunk and Quake. Enjoying CB, but Quake is the best.

Convinced my friend this evening that he'd like Satisfactory. Was correct. 3 hours later we've got the hang of it and he's giggling like a school kid. Great game for noodling about and having a chat with a mate.

Not what I am currently playing, I must make clear.... My youngest (6) is currently obsessed with Sonic the Hedgehog. I had to sit for an entire afternoon with her and my 4-year old nephew while they played bits of EVERY Sonic game on the Xbox (from the top of my head, Sonic 1, CD, Mania, 4, Adventure 1, Generations, and the latest racer). My partner piped up last week that I didn't own her favourite Sonic game - Unleashed. So obviously, like a moron, I bought it.
Fuck. Me. This is beyond words.
The 3D platform bits are your average 3D Sonic game - hold forward, press jump occasionally, marvel at the pretty graphics, wonder how they haven't made a single decent Sonic game in 3D despite Nintendo having shown them how to do it for over 20 years.
BUT! There are beat-em-up levels with Sonic the Werewolf? Werehog? It's the most fuck-awful thing I think I've played in my entire adult life. After five minutes of button-mashing, the 7-year old handed me the controller to do a boss. Which you do by mashing again, but only until its lost half its energy, at which point you do a QTE or it gets it all back.
Then there's an on-rails shooting bit. But you can't control your plane, and it is also entirely QTE-based.
By this point I'd lost the will to live, I'm going to order the remastered Colours and pretend I've lost this.

I had MGS V on disc for PS4, but now have a digital PS5. So I bought it again earlier, for just £3 ish.
Wow. I urge anyone who hasn’t played it for years to get it on PS5. It’s super slick 60fps/4K, and genuinely; some of the best graphics I’ve seen on PS5.
I can’t believe how good of a job Kojima did on this in 2016. It’s stunning.
And that gameplay 🤤 … so, so nice.

Having a quick blast through State of Decay 2 as a palate cleanser. It's rather relaxing on easy.

Finally getting into Bloodborne having bounced off it quite quickly a couple of times. Finding using a YouTube walkthrough is helping somewhat, though I do feel a little dirty doing so. Seems to be a different route to the one I took before. Just took down Father G and arrived at the Cathedral hub. Plays well and still looks good on PS5.
Got Days Gone and FF7 remake on the go as well for when I fancy something something slightly less punishing.

Single Players: Main: Fallout 4, first time of really playing after bouncing off several years ago, after about 10 hours. Enjoying it. AoM. as above really, not a patch on SR2 but fun in small doeses.
Have loads more that I am dipping in and out of, but those are my two "mains" at the mo.

Psychonauts 2 which is great although there have been a couple of points where I've found the platforming fiddly, mainly trouble judging where my character is relative to the platforms which is pretty annoying. Everything else about the game is brilliant though.
Flight Simulator because it feels weirdly like getting out and exploring the world

Blankos Block Party, gonna get me some early access NFTs before this one moons. Plus the game is fun so that helps.
While it's fairly simplistic game play where you run around in races, collect lightnings(vibes) or play a simple shooter the looks are great. Has a LBP kind of mash up with lego feel to it. It's clear they put some money into it and are continuing to do so. Has good music and I think Deadmau5 was involved too at some point. It's in early access mode atm so the game isn't finished and that means you can get in early before the official release. It's f2p and earn and you can buy Blankos and accessories if you like. Given the way Axies has gone it might be a good 9 dollar investment but you don't have to.
Like I say they have put lots into this and for now you can only play on PC and you need reasonable specs too, plus with rumours of it eventually hitting the Switch I reckon this one is here to stay so get in while you can.

Currently switching between Metal Gear Acid on my PSP, and Persona Q on my 3DS.
Both really good games. I started PQ last year and got about 40 hours in, then stopped for some reason (no idea why as the game is amazing) had to delete my save as I couldn't remember how to play it when I picked it up again last night

Quake on the pc. Is top fun again. It's making me want to deathmatch.
Apart from that, the usual cycle of botw, dragon's dogma and dead space.
I really need to go through some vr titles I've had for ages and not properly done yet. Dunno why I keep putting it off. Maybe it's the faff and inconvenience of not being able to drink and smoke while doing it. But when I played Polybius the other week, it blew me away again. Need to dedicate a night to it or something I think

Still want to bang on about MGS V on PS5. It's stunning and feels so good to be back in that Afghanistan setting, scoping out the enemy base from a hill, then making your way down to infiltrate it.
Oh and it's £3 in the PSN sale.

Yakuza Kiwami and FFXIV (free trial version) concurrently. Kiwami is good but not as good as zero. FFXIV is absolute crack, completely addicted to it and approaching the level cap already with some of my jobs, so gonna have to buy the full version soon I reckon.

Hades still when I have less than an hour to play, it's a little disheartening when you get a bunch of crappy gem/darkness/key options, and you end up with a really basic build. For longer sessions am playing through Greedfall, on the gamepass, the AA jank is starting to get to me though, and there are lots of talk to guy A, talk to guy B, talk to guy A again quests.

Still Bioshock 2. I'm starting to get really sick of it though as it's starting to feel like someone's collection of Doom mods that I wasted too much time over in the past.
Just feels very samey and I'm thinking life is too short for this.

I need to go back to Bioshock 2. Started it immediately after the first one and found the controls to be a huge improvement over the original. I think I was just a little burnt out at the time.
