House of the Dead is so unbelievably bad, it's almost good. I say almost, because the editing is awful enough that it's just not that fun to watch in the end.
Alone in the Dark, on the other hand, is just horrendous from start to finish.

The boy coerced me into playing a bit of Far Cry 5 with him last night. Never co-opped a FC game before but it upped the amusement factor by 200%. In the space of an hour we'd flown our plane into a helicopter, raced quadbikes, chased each other through the woods and shot each other multiple times, before taking an outpost in the most hilariously hamfisted way possible.
I think this might be the way to play them now.
I notice 4 is very cheap these days and you can ride elephants...

You can avoid it my not approaching her. I don't think she is integral to any quest, or even the arena bits.

Far cry games are infinitely more fun in co-op. I just wish that it wasn't always best to just use a helicopter to get around as the map is too big. Just make the map more dense with more fun things to do so we can walk about if we want to without it taking forever to get somewhere.

Another hour last night which culminated in him climbing on the wing of my plane as I was taking off and shooting me in the head once we were up in the air. Prior to that we'd spent most of the time setting each other on fire and racing pick-up trucks around Falls End whilst throwing grenades at each other.
Good. Silly. Fun.

Finished Far Cry 6 a few weeks ago and was going to go back to it and clean up the rest of the single player stuff.
Bumped up against insurgencies, OK, I can accept them adding a game mode to play after you’ve finished the story.
But what moronic idiot at Ubisoft decided that it would be compulsory and systematically wipe my single player map of all my fast travel points if I don’t participate?!
Stupid beyond belief.

Started 6 over xmas and still slowly grinding through it. It's ok, but really since 3 they have all been variations on 'meh' and the edgy/shite dialogue villains never seem to improve.
I do possibly think it's slightly better than 5.

The copy/paste+additional bits mentality they apply to the various events (outpost, hunting etc) across the game areas also applies to the games across the series as well. Surely they're all the same game with a different location,pro/antagonist & bullshit drug/hallucination sequence.
Along with Valhalla, I haven't even been arsed, even though they're now on Gamepass.

Yep- I messed around with the insurgency mode immediately after completing the campaign and thought it was ok- at least it seems like a viable way of getting enough of the paid "Moneda" currency to get some interesting stuff from the black market vendor without actually paying for it. But yeah, losing the fast travel points just so you can "re-take" them is a bit daft. Did you do the guerrilla hideout construction option in any of the three main bases? At least those are fast travel points spread across the map that can't be lost to insurgency. |

TBH I'm not going to bother with it any more. Ubisoft being stupid again, doesn't deserve my time.
