when I "@" you it will not allow me to capitalise the F, well it does but as soon as I go to post it prints as f  You hafta @ the name they signed up with, frogofdoom will print as Frog |

Completed earlier and and overall a lot of fun and great story telling, really enjoyed last 3 odd chapters, very emotional. I had more fun with this than first game, to be fair the last few chapters and boss fight in the first game really pissed me off and tainted the previous 14 excellent odd chapters.
The soundtrack was also great, I will see if I can purchase it on cd.

I agree Duff, the addition of the uncharted style set pieces added a lot to the game. The storytelling is great as well, especially towards the end as you say.
How was the beach fight for you?

Re Beach, not too bad, I had the perk were you could retrieve bolts from dead enemies and even with that I upped my carrying capacity to 5 👍 went back to the first game (just to check something) and the accents seem much "allo allo" ?
not sure I will bother with ng+, so many more worlds to experience.

Yeah I never bother with Ng+ other than souls games. I took a sneakier path than you I think, I only ever had 2 bolts and they weren't retrievable. It's a fight that punishes a stealthier approach because you have to be able to get rid of some of them quite quickly and it's helmets galore there.

Gah. ...having fun mate  I played on easy, at least it made the fights a little less frustrating, still frustrating mind you due in no small part to the slingshot. Very intrigued by this game but I've not played the original. Is it worth playing?
Also what's the difficulty like on that? Sounds like Duff had a couple of issues with it towards the end so I'd probably lean towards whatever easy difficulty is named rather than my default normal.

You really need to have played the first game to understand the second I think. It's not a hard game by any means but there are a few spikes but nothing horrific.

Does easy change up the stealth bits at all, or just the combat? Might give it another chance this weekend. As far as I can tell just combat, you still need to stealth. I say need but on more than a few levels I just ran for the door(s) that separate the sections, luckily there are no insta-death when being spotted...actually there may have been one ? Tip: Upgrade your Bow so you can hold 5 bolts and unlock the retrieve bolts from dead enemies. Nitrous Re first game I loved 80/90% of it, but I loathed the remaining % especially the last Boss fight for me and at least Mr Wonderstuff it had no place in the game. I think you could watch a refresher of the first game, but you possibly will miss the attachment between Amicia and Hugo, which is a massive part of the game. Amicia is brilliant |

I'll maybe bump difficulty down. It's just annoying. I did get it in the end, but locked room with many enemies is a pita!

60fps mode just arrived through a patch on PS5 and Series X. Glad I held off on progressing past the first level.
Basically seems increasingly sensible to wait a full calendar year before starting new games especially "one and done" titles otherwise run the risk of playing a hugely inferior version.
