I loved my one proper foray into DMZ but I think it's really time intensive and whilst I've had plenty of disparate gaming time recently I've also had IRL commitments which would interfere with it. If I have half an hour spare I'm probably in core instead. Oh to be young, footloose and fancy free again.
Got transported back to 2009 last night with some genuine vintage trash talk in a lobby.
'You ratty little c#*ts. What, 40 deaths?!' then it cut off. I was rofl'ing. Have missed that a bit.

I've been loving both styles of play but you're right you definitely need to dedicate more time to a DMZ session compared to 6v6.
This is my first time back on CoD for a long time and I still think I prefer Battlefield for my FPS kicks, but the 6v6 definitely has a fun "just one more go" hook to it.

I now have a “free weapon” toggle that gives me random weapons in both slots. Is that an update for everyone, or is it giving me a pity mode because I’m rubbish?

My word, they’ve made this complicated. It’s years since I’ve played CoD, but wanted a change, so…
Installed 45Gb
Campaign? Nah - download Campaign pack 1 & 2
Multiplayer? Nah - there’s a pack for that
Co-op - nah
War zone 2.0 - you get the idea
Went to bed and left it downloading
I get the feeling I’m not the target audience…
Had a few games, Domination & FFA - it’s fast and gorgeous. Can’t get my head around weapon upgrades to unlock other weapons yet, but it’ll click.

If you play tier 1 the marksman rifles are the weapon of choice. Walk around like the Terminator with it.

Playing dmz earlier...
Trying to get my son out with the stronghold file. He is on the helicopter and me and my other team mate decided to stay as we needed to spend his cash. My son gets jumped by 3 people on the helicopter and killed so I jumped on there and killed the 3 that got him. Trying to find my nippers body on the heli and we realise it fell off the helicopter when it took off so we had to jump out.
Teammate is ressing him while I'm on top of a building when a car arrived and ran him over. I down one of them and his mate snipes me. I self revive and stay hidden while they extract on our 2nd heli.
Then I go to res teammate and another team comes but don't see me as I'm led on teammates body. Kill them both ressed everyone and extracted. Was hilarious.

Where are you getting all these helicopters?
My games always go from the sublime to the ridiculous, generally due to the autofill teammates selection.
There's never any middle ground apparently. 😀

Today I learned: if you’re downed by AI while awaiting the exfil helicopter in the DMZ, you can just crawl onto the heli and escape.
I’ve still mainly been playing solo, the few squad games I’ve done end up with us getting slaughtered - either by too many AI, or by a much better squad. For now I think I’m just going to sneak around on my own and build up a decent stock of contraband weapons so I’m not always relying on the random free ones.
I do want to do the missions at some point, but taking on a stronghold is far too difficult for me to solo, and I just keep losing the weapons I take into squad matches.

My son and I just had our first warzone wins. Well chuffed.
I would like to regale you with a story of many kills and skills but it was more good positioning than anything else. We had 5 kills between us. Haha.
Like buses, we followed it up with another win. Smashed it!

Huh, think I need to read a beginner’s guide or something. My dumb arse only just realised I can do Gunsmith stuff to my insured slot weapon. I had a new muzzle, grip and sight for the M4 I’ve been using.
Also just got my first two opponent kills- saw one running to the Exfil and surprised him- then somehow managed not to die when his mate came after me. Quite enjoying this!

I had a cracking round of dmz the other day. We stayed in for ages and probably left it a bit late but it went mental at the extraction, both my team mates died and I ended up killing 10 human players. There was cars turning up from everywhere. Sadly I didn't get out though  |

I'm not sure and of the distances on shipment will be enough to get the longshots for anything longer ranged than an SMG though.

You can get Shotgun longshots on Shipment.
There's a new 'Chimera' AR that is basically the Honey Badger from Ghosts. It's available from DMZ, store or by getting 2 AR kills in 15 matches. Thanks to shipment I'm on 14 and have also levelled two shotties and the hated M16.
My Xmas break starts on Saturday. Would have loved to just play this and waste the day but alas I have to catch a hangover for Sunday.
