It took basically all night to do and the rewards weren't really worth it, tbh.
I didn't do the Misty stuff in the first one, I never can keep my sense of direction in computer game mazes.

I dithered a bit about mopping the challenges up as the top tier upgrades are locked behind resources gained there but it’s a lot of hassle just to raise your stat numbers by three.

I'm currently in chapter 9 and clocked 25 hours so far - I am being incredibly thorough though  Still really enjoying it so far. |

Yeah, tbh I'm not sure if it's made that much difference. I got a couple of upgrades for the blades and one for the axe, but they're still not maxxed. My armour is, but the level has not gone up massively overall, so. Meh. On the plus side, you only have to do the flawless challenge once, after that you can pick the quick, easy ones. Off to Asgard next apparently, so presumably endgame. All I'm missing is a couple of rifts that I can't find and a treasure location, but I'm probably done with searching for them. I've absolutely loved the game, but I rarely go for 100 of anything. |

You get a lot of dialogue hints when you're approaching the point of no return with the story, so still a bit to do if you haven't had any of that yet.

Story is finished. Suitably epic ending.
I may have to play something else for a bit before trying the end game stuff.

The late game optional area was by far the best bit of the game for me. It's way denser than the rest of the side and exploration areas, and it's all on foot instead of yet another fucking boat or sled. The puzzles are integrated directly into the environment across the whole area, there's plenty of combat.
It doesn't just feel like a bunch of nodes of "content" connected by a glorified load screen.
Whole game should've been like it.

I've mopped up all of the side content apart from the final berserker and another hidden boss. Tried a build I saw on YouTube which absolutely melted everything else, but still managed to get my shit totally pushed in by the berserker. So I'm taking a short break/rage quit with 2 trophies still left to go. You could turn the difficulty down? It doesn't penalise you for doing so and we won't judge. |

Just gone back to this thinking I enjoyed it enough to want to finish the Beserkers and Crucible trials for the Platinum trophy but turns out you need all 48 of the bloody Ravens for one of the trophies. 25 ravens to do has greatly curbed my enthusiasm.

For some reason I found the ravens much easier to find in this compared to 2018. Probably helps that they had tiered rewards attached to them, so I went out of my way to snag any I spotted/heard.
In 2018 I pretty much ignored all of the ones flying around in a loop. Far too long to wait for an them to come around again.

Highest framerate you can get, really. It looks great but ultimately it mostly looks like a really polished PS4 game with the shackles pff no matter what mode you put it on, so high frame rate mode if you have a compatible display, otherwise 60fps.

Got this on its way to me. What's the consensus on best graphics mode? It's got that 40fps mode you like. Improves resolution and also lighting and some of the character detail. Couldn't get away with it myself, and the high frame rate performance mode is super fluid. |

The 40fps is definitely the sweet spot for me, the game looks amazing. Much more than a pimped out ps4 game.
Only played a couple of hours last night but I can tell I'll love it already. Nice continuation of the first.

The giant grandma section was amazing, the scale really worked. Ran into my first enemy that's caused me issues. The draugr hole in Vanaheim is absolutely fucking me up, seems much more powerful than anything else I've met. Couple of hits and I'm dead. |

That happened a bit in the first for me. Especially when all the worlds were opened up. Then a cool set piece happens and you're back in the game.
I get FOMO if i don't look for everything and do the side quests though.

Now have to travel into vanaheim to fight the eight tomato sauce dragons' just so they can deliver 30 minutes worth of expository dialogue about the main story is unbelievably annoying when you notice they are doing it. It kind of made me wish for audio logs... |

I'm still having a blast, also 37 hours in, and have just entered another new area with loads to do. Fucking love this game 👍 Looking at the chapter list I have a few more to do, and then I gather there is post-end game content too?

There's not a huge amount of new content after you've finished. Just one questline IIRC. mikeck - that area was a highlight of the game for me if it's the one I'm thinking of. Cracking stuff! |
