LGC9. Haven't more than a few minutes to try this so haven't tried the different settings and stuff. I'm sure it was something to do with the black levels. Like you need to set it to limited in the PS5 settings and the same on the TV.

So: 20 minutes to copy enough data from the disc to the hard drive to make the game playable; 25 minutes to copy across the rest of the data; and 15 minutes to download the day one patch. An hour in total.
I could've loaded a ZX Spectrum game from a cassette tape in half the time!

Who remembers the summer games franchise by Epyx on c64? You had to load each individual event up and they took forever - then the events themselves were over in an instant.
Happy memories of doing so around Ben Ryan’s flat during the endless teachers strikes in the 80s!

This is something else. I've had the whole day to myself and usually when this happens with a big new game, I start finding my attention wandering after a couple of hours, scrolling through my phone with it on pause or going off and catching up with stuff I need to do around the house.
But this game has made me a vegetable today. I've just had to crowbar myself off it to have a shower as I was probably pretty ripe after playing it for like 7 fucking hours on the trot. Scruffy cunt.
Feel like I've done nearly fuck all on it either.

Can't say I'm noticing any difference at all in the picture between to two modes. I have RGB range set to limited and black level set to low which helped with washed out blacks I was getting on a few games. Also just noticed they are to have added a "fine tune dark areas" in the additional settings which might help. |

Wow, what a start. Just done the tutorial boss and already getting the feels.
Not played the preceding game for about 3 years now, but did everything you could do in that, and can see myself doing it again with this.
Forgot how giddy it feels to be Kratos. The combat is so visceral.

Played the first hour.
It’s good to be back in that world. My problem is I’ve been playing Elden Ring for about 100 white knuckled hoursand my muscle memory has been remapped. So I’m hitting circle to evade and X to jump when Kratos doesn’t much care for jumping.
To make matters worse, I never finished Elden Ring… so by the time I get back to it my control reflexes will be remapped again and I’ll get slaughtered.

As with the previous game, one of the first things I did was to switch X and O - I've spent *way* too much time playing Soulsbornes to evade any other way!

I’m liking the little additions, like being able to frost buff the axe and the death from above attack.

I totally biffed my first attempt at a death from above attack, mere seconds after the tutorial window popped up - ran straight off the ledge like a doofus, and landed next to the very enemy I'd been trying to kill.
'Twas kind of awkward.

I too did the X and O switch because of ingrained Souls/Elden Ring muscle memory. The basic controls are not too dissimilar with attacking, dodging and blocking etc, but i’m still feeling a bit shit at fighting in this. Finding it difficult to adjust to having to find and then pick health up off the floor instead of chugging a flask.
I’m repeating what others have said here; first hour in and it really is outrageous haha. Had to drag myself away as up early tomorrow.

I'd definitely recommend going into the accessibility options and making picking up resources automatic. There's a ton of shit in there that's super useful. |
