What's with the * at the end of the title?

They haven’t said but I guarantee it will turn out to be underwhelming.

What's with the * at the end of the title? I think they said it would be revealed in the movie.

I'm baffled by the asterisk, because does it mean they're going to change the title after everyone's watched it?*
*Two days after it comes out, which seems to be Disney's formal timeframe for revealing huge spoilers.

I have absolutely no idea what a Kraven is. Is he just a budget Wolverine?

Hey look, it's James Bond! Unless Kraven is so bad it tanks his chances

I have absolutely no idea what a Kraven is. Is he just a budget Wolverine? He's a spiderman villain. Who hunts great prey. Most notably spiderman. Who isn't in this movie because Sony don't know what they're doing and are just continually making films to keep the IP.

Are they still desperately trying to do the Sinister Six?

I would love to see them try just to see how shit it was and again to have a film where spiderman is not involved.

This surely has to be the last one of these (venom notwithstanding)

Lord & Miller are being given a lot more control over SPUMC (or whatever Sony are calling it at the moment) so hopefully they can use their magic to right the ship once Kraven and the "last" Venom are out.

This surely has to be the last one of these (venom notwithstanding) I doubt it. That endeavour to make a film out of a character who appeared in one issue of spiderman and make it a vehicle for the singer/rapper Bad Bunny should inform me you that barrel can still be scraped.

I feel like they need another Spiderman in the mix. If Tom Holland is mainly busy with MCU related stuff, then why don't they introduce a live action Miles and have him show up in most of these non-MCU movies. The whole concept of the Multiverse/Spiderverse is well known enough now that people would accept it. Then they could have the Miles one and the MCU/Holland one team up occasionally for big special events, like they do with Doctor Who. I mean, I'm sure they'll get around to it at some point, and maybe that's what they were hoping to set in motion with Madame Web, but it'd have made all these Villain-centric movies more compelling if they'd had a spiderman pop up in them, even if only in a limited way.
PS/ It seems like a major missed opportunity if the last Venom movie ends without him ever meeting Spider-man.

Alternatively, just leave the live action stuff to Marvel, as Sony are just worse at it (even given the current state of the MCU), and Let Sony work on animated stuff under Lord and Miller as it's a proven thing.

Because they know they can't make spiderman movies for shit and it's their golden goose they can't afford to fuck those up. In addition having spiderman in the wider MCU has proved to be far more beneficial than keeping the character in their own shitty Sony world.

But that's why they need a B-spiderman to keep their shitty sony world together.

I think it just serves to further confuse everything. I don't think Sony have a clean way of making Spider-Man movies anymore, and with him still attached to the MCU looking at a new trilogy, there are likely stipulations between companies to not muddy the waters.

I think they're both pretty popular to be honest, I wouldn't want to say who is more popular. But I've seen fair arguments that Miles's more recent comic stories have been generally better than Peter's.
Miles is probably the only good thing to originate in the edgelord Ultimate series.

Yeah, not even close, judging by box office. Over 1.9 billion for No Way Home and 690 million for Enter the Spider-verse. Almost 3 times the amount (1 times for each Spider-Man).

That could be down to one being an animation though, which will never have the same mass appeal live action films do (even if the live action films are basically animated themselves with all the VFX)

I think it's not quite fair to compare a live action movie to an animated movie especially one with way more marketingand fanfare. I think a live action Miles movie would greatly surpass a Peter Parker one in popularity, especially in younger people.
