I can't remember if we have a Sci;Adv thread here like in the other place so posting here.
I see that SpikeChunsoft has confirmed the localisation of the Chaos;Head & Chaos;Child double pack for Switch (in October or November IIRC).
Will be nice to finally play the Noah version of CH after finishing the original release a long time ago. Wonder if we will get the Love ChuChus too as I gather in the Chaos series that they are canon.

The entire series is either 9 or 10/10 for me. apart from Robotic Notes 2 which is legit one of the worst game I have ever played. A bad guy who literally wants to rule the world by making girls look like they are in bikinis etc. It is every cliche about Japanese perversions panty fetch Lolita creepy stuff come to life.

Gotta say, the new Stranger of Paradise demo seems to have been greatly improved in the technical front. Now on Series S the game runs at a pretty good 60fps, though there's still that stuttering every time something new happens, that seems to denote shader compiling issues. And here you thought it was just an Elden Ring problem. But outside of those, the game runs a lot better now.
But even with the technical improvements, man, is this game weird. It's hard to explain. Feels like it was put together at random. I think they were going for the FF15 idea of starting in medias res with an already formed party, but it doesnt work out nearly as well imo.
Edit: checked it out a bit. The game is 1080p60 in performance mode, and 1080p30 in resolution mode. I do think performance mode uses DRS as it sometimes appears a bit softer, and the lighting may be a little better in resllution mode, but it's not really worth the massive reduction in performance, especially because the 60fps mode is not nearly as choppy as before. Surprisingly, the Xbox One version runs at 60fps, but it's 720p and the framerate is really not very good at all.

Shader compilation stutter on fixed hardware is definitely on brand for the kind of jank this game has had in every demo so far. Definitely going to check both demos, though I’m probably going to wait for the inevitable “complete” edition on PC coinciding with the Steam release.

Briefly tried it on both PS5 and Series X. I can't play it with that upscaling filter, it looks like a badly scaled GIF from 1996. Looks like nearest neighbour with some random noise, pretty sure it's the same they used on Samurai Warriors 5 and it looked horrible in that but it's even worse with the higher levels of detail, it just becomes a mess of pixels. It looks even worse than it did previously, somehow.

I was gonna say it doesn't look too bad on Series X in Resolution Mode, when I was fighting Tiamat in the intro. Then I got to the wheat field tutorial from the previous beta trials and oof, I see what you mean. It looks like a pixel sprite game where every object is still polygons.
Still, combat feels faster than before, and even Resolution mode uses variable resolution scaler to keep the performance near 60. Does defeat the purpose of having both modes though.
and I am liking the focus on story. Was afraid it'd be just endless dungeon crawls from the previous trials.

Just started the demo on PS5. While performance on Series X has improved dramatically from Trial 2, visually it's noticeably far behind PS5. On resolution mode, PS5 is also near 60fps, but it doesn't seem to have that same super low res, giant pixel problem Series X does. Much cleaner image overall. I'm basing this on the intro story bits and that same wheat field tutorial area. Haven't done any actual missions here yet, but seeing as the Series X in resolution mode didn't drop as low as it did in the tutorial, I'm sure this version will be fine too.
But yeah, PS5 looks like the version to get. Or brute force it on PC, I guess.

Some of the design choices are so damn weird. Like, when you are in the map you can choose to talk to NPCs... which then leads to a loading screen. It's fine on modern consoles, but on Xbox One it took like thirty seconds to load the cutscene of a guy talking to you for five seconds.

I have to admit that RN;DaSh is one I have skipped so far, even though I enjoyed the original game. I will do it for completeness at some point I guess...

That's super news re: Chaos Head. Any word on a PS release? Switch probably suits me more to be fair anyway.
I never really got far in Robotic Notes, it didn't really grab me, and therefore also haven't played the second game, sounds like best to avoid!
I'm near the end of chapter 8 on Xenoblade Chronicles 2 so think I'm a few hours from the end of the game as a whole. I'm about 45 hours in, I think I've enjoyed it for the most part but definitely looking forward to it being done. I'll get 3 on release but must say I feel the series is a 7/10, which I'm sure many will disagree with!

Oddly Switch only for now but I always preferred the Sci;Adv games handheld so that suits me.
Wonder if SpikeChunsoft will ever get around to a localised physical release of the SG0/LBP/MDE pack as all three are localised on Switch. If we had that we would only be missing the non-Elite version of SG1 in the main games. (And the Chaos Chu Chus)

Story is a lot sillier and light hearted than the others though. But it must have done something right, the climax is fantastic and literally had me cheering at the screen in the end.

Yeah, I really want the original release if Steins;Gate ported at some point, but I don't see it likely as they specifically released the Elite version is a like remastered, expanded version. Shame cause the anime art clashes against the more stylized manga art of the other two games.

I think the fact I had played CH first helped with RN as there are quite a few references.

Fantastic. I'm actually half tempted to buy it again on Switch as I find it so much easier to play those games on a handheld!
On the final chapter of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and its moving up to a good 8/10, last few hours have been fantastic! The soundtrack in this is absolutely stellar.

It feels nice to be playing Knights in the Nightmare with the touch screen in HD. Even if touch controls aren't quite as nice as the pen, it still works better than the analog stick ever did, including on the PSP. And I guess one could use a capacitive pen, assuming they can handle the weight of the console (because of having to keep the L button ready at all time).
My only real gripe is that the Talk feature uses the B button, which is... very inconvenient, when you are using your right hand for the touch screen. They should move it to the d-pad, like on the DS.

Tenchu meets Thief meets some old PS2 graphics engine.

And it seems that Anonymous;Code, the next Sci;Adv title is confirmed for localisation in 2023 too (for Switch, PS4 and Steam). Leaving whatever update/complete version for the apparently unfinished Occultic;Nine that is due in the future and the Chaos LoveChuChus unlocalised. (Which would be a logical follow up to the Chaos double pack). And of course the untitled Steins;Gate gamee that is apparently in development.

Now to see if it works on Steam Deck. Costs a fair bit more than mobile too... Torn between wanting to support and hating pricing disparity between mobile and PC games. (Saying that if an uncensored decent Limited Switch physical came out tomorrow at £30 I would likely pounce on it so...)

Shoji Meguro's indie project, Guns Undarkness, is live on Kickstarter and is already funded. Looks alright. Personally I'm hanging on to see if it hits the stretch goal for console versions before jumping in but it's looking promising:

Shame no physical releases though, download only I think So far it seems that way which actually makes the Steam versions more appealing than they otherwise would have been or just playing FES instead ...

Ooh just noticed Chaos Head is out on the switch.
Better finish xenoblade 3 (will be done today) and AI somnium 2 ASAP. Despite Robot Notes 2 being one of the worst games ever made the series apart from that has been stonking. Quite excited.

I thought about reminding people on release day but didn't. I preorder it (and Anonymous;Code) and I am playung through now (been a good few years since I played through the original barebones version). The pacing early on is better than I remember too. Obviously will have all new routes I haven't played as the original only had a few (4?) endings.
