Played up to the first boss last night. I'd had a few drinks but that first boss was very annoying and typical From software hardness. I knew what I had to do but getting up close was such a pain due to the boss going outside the permitted play area time and again. Anyway, looks like a sweet game to get into over the weekend. Edit: Also the launch edition came with some nice art work, small poster and stickers |

Planning to jump in tonight, now that Persona 5 Royal is done and dusted - very excited, although I do wonder how much (or little!) I'll enjoy spending time in the garage, tinkering with my big stompy robots.

The customisation of the mechs is incredible and I've only just started the game. It gives you so much freedom with colours and art work. You could spend many hours in the customisation alone.

I'm enjoying this so far.
Just wish the starting pistol didn't have so little ammo - I'm going for a Dex/Skill* type of build, with high mobility, and the pistol works really well except for its meagre ammo reserves.
* I know, I know!

How many builds has everyone put together so far?
I currently have three:
1) A lightweight speedster (pistol, shield, sword, rockets);
2) A middle-grounder (dual shotguns, dual rockets); and
3) A big chungus (dual bazookas, dual rockets).
I like the idea of having a long-range option with a sniper rifle of some sort, but I don't know if that's possible.

The 'Investigate BAWS Arsenal No. 2' mission can do one. Four invisible enemies, one of which chases you around relentlessly while the other three perch on the walls and snipe you from across the arena! |

Yeah, that was quite annoying. Up to the next boss after that part and struggling with it. Could be tiredness and beers but went and redid some missions for cash and unlock more parts.
Hopefully find a suitable build for it now. Finding these bosses harder than elden ring so far. Some of it is fighting the lock on. That's very From as well. 😁

I thought my mech was ok because I’ve pretty much coasted through to that point, but browsing the shop it looks like I can massively upgrade everything, so on a bit of a grind.

That settles it - I'm gonna quit the mission, go and do some grinding, and put together a new build for this boss. (Not wild about the fact that mission checkpoints don't persist when you back out and return to the garage, but it is what it is.)

Went back, did all the Arena bits that were available to me, got some armour with my OST chips, put together a tetrapod build with a plasma gun, and...
... Still only managed to remove two-thirds of his health bar. Bugger!
