The Xbox/Starfield one was a fairly brilliant show, in comparison with every other one this week. The Summer Games Fest, The Day Of The Devs, The Wholesome Direct and The Future Games Show were all extremely lacklustre, and while that PC Games Show that just finished had some really good stuff in it as well, two and a half hours was way too long for one show, especially with probably the cringiest, most excruciating hosting I've seen in a very long time.
The ones still to come:
And still no Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.

In regards to the Atlus game:
Hmm.
I think it might actually be exclusive. We’ll see within the week, I suppose.

Really good show from Microsoft.
As someone said earlier in the thread - it's nice for them to finally have a decent looking slate of first party exclusive games.

Christ, you can feel the distress in his words at having to type out that article. Didn't realise console-centric websites were still a thing.

Tomo Heh. I didn't say they'd done so willingly
I think Push Square is part of a network of gaming sites that also has Xbox and Nintendo variants; it's pretty decent, for the most part, although it does tend to bring forth pointless console tribalism now and again.

The article is even written by a woman. I think the title is purposely click baity and a little misleading after begrudgingly reading the full article, which just reads like a rant over the perception Microsoft featured woman devs and presenters in this presentation based on meeting an obvious quota.. As the previous showcases featured exclusively men (apparently)

The SGF show last week did but MS have been having Bond on for years now. And Ninja Theory always have Senua actress narrate the videos.

I'm not doing a thread for the Ubisoft and Capcom shows today as I'll be in work when it starts, but if someone wants to do one, continue it in this one or just fold it into the all purpose Game Trailers thread, go nuts.

Yeah, Sarah Bond has been around since at least Xbox One. She’s not a reaction to the Polygons and Eurogamers of the world (who also had an article about how the conferences prior to MS had no women).

As in, it's great that there's finally female representation but that's only scratching the surface? It did seem hugely click baity having read the article though which was fairly innocuous.

Opening with Just Dance 2024, which is apparently an Olympic Esport now. That's the way, Ubi - best foot forward! Due for release on October 24.
Now Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. I haven't seen either of the movies, but this looks... fine, I guess. More of an FPS than I'd expected - Far Cry: Avatar, pretty much. James Cameron shows up to loan some credibility to the proceedings. Release date is December 7.
XDefiant, with a bunch of people who are apparently established streamers playing it. Super douchebro-y. Live Service: The Video Game. Launching later this summer. Zzzzz.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is up next - out January 18. Looks decent enough to me, but then I have no experience with the other Prince of Persia games and therefore no axe to grind. Could be a good one for regular posters in the '2D Platformers' thread to keep their eyes on.
Holy shit - it's Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, guys! Those mad bastards actually did it! (Nope, me neither. Apparently it's a Far Cry-related anime adaptation that's going to be on Netflix.)
Tom Clancy's The Division: Resurgence is... a mobile game. Huzzah!
Now there's a band onstage, playing a song called Skull & Bones. No idea how this pertains to Ubisoft. Oh, I jest - it's a pretty cool little ditty referencing the long-awaited pirate game in question. There will be another beta test in late August.
The Crew Motorfest is still a thing, for those of you who like driving games. Releasing on September 14.
If you have a Meta Quest 2, maybe Assassin's Creed Nexus VR will get your trousers moving. Failing that, perhaps Assassin's Creed Codename Jade - a free mobile game - will put a little pep in your pecker?
Assassin's Creed Mirage, due on October 12, will take the series back to its roots. Those roots being pre-Origins, so... 2015, I guess? It looks fine and all, but I thought people had got bored of this formula back when Ubisoft was cranking these out on an annual basis; then again, eight years is a long time in popular culture.
--------------------
Oh, great - here's Yves! Maybe he'll reference all the scandals he's overseen at Ubi, and explain how the hell he's still in charge over there. (Spoiler: he didn't.)
--------------------
Star Wars Outlaws looks set to be the big finale. I'm not a Star Wars guy - no disrespect to those who love it! - so I can't pass comment in that regard. Gameplay-wise, it looks like fairly standard third-person action fare with a Lucasfilm skin. Due in 2024.

Was that tame just dance bit at the beginning the actual dance number? Utter bullshit if so. That's usually the reason I watch these things!

That was... not great. No Splinter Cell, which was the main thing I wanted to see, and everything that was shown left me cold.
T-minus 3.5 hours until the Capcom event, though!

Avatar & Star Wars Outlaws don't look half bad to be honest, although I strongly suspect they'll devolve into the usual Ubisoft open-world clichés, but that's not necessarily the end of the world so long as the stories are decent.

I'm that amazed that Star Wars game was a Ubi game. It just seemed so different from their usual tripe.
