Well that would work. Or I could create a char in qeynos. That would work too. What class works well with ranger? Or if you create one, what goes well with druid?

I was just reading up too. Says a cleric would be good with a Ranger. I've played cleric before so know what I'm doing there.

Other than that it says stuff like bard, or sk or beastlord to go with a druid

Aren't enchanters dead hard to play and mainly for cc? I'm not sure but I'd have thought we need a pointy stick / aggro? Or we could spell them to death with roots and dots etc?

I saw a chart which had enc and necro as good partners, but tbh, I feel like it should be possible to make most things work for just some basically levelling/wandering about. I guess it would be rooting and dots, with pet support and some cc.

Can't hurt (too much) to give it at go. I've created a chanter called Meznogud and will try to get him levelled a bit today.

True, it's not like we're level 50 doing raids, and the druid mobility spells will help out for sure. Whole point is to just have a laugh

I really miss CoH. Even Matrix online was interesting as it was 'modern day' setting. Even liked Auto Assault as well.

It's weird, it's equally both a FF game and not a FF game. Very social though, even if most of it is though an odd social meta, where people set up clothes shops, cafes, restaurants and night clubs.

Yeah. I think the pandemic had a lot to answer for, when people were locked up they found other outlets to be social. You can definitely see that to the extreme in ff.

Ofc square definitely capitalised on it by selling most of the contemporary clothes and dances and emotes in their real money store. They know 😅

Yeah, my first main toon was a ranger. I remember.

I definitely remember that only primary casters get Gate (everyone else depends on other classes to get them out of difficult spots, hence the epic corpse runs of legend). I think only they get bind affinity too, though I’m sure melee classes can change their spawn point as well. I can’t recall how though.

I've managed to get my sense heading at about 130 now though, so corpse runs are still an absolute nightmare but at least I'm going in vaguely the right direction each time now

Oh yes, it's real alright. I've got a character bound at unrest. It's always a risk just bloody logging that character on!

Apologies for not being about to play this past week. Had a sudden medical thing (nothing super serious, I think!) which left me not really able to play pretty much anything at all. Hoping to pop on again soon, but I think its likely I'll be moving forward on it at a snails pace as I'm now behind on a bunch of stuff. Still feeling the lure of it though.

I've been tempted, I must admit. The only thing that stops me is how much its watered down now. I was used to the burning crusade era, but the last time I resubbed, it was daft - you'd be basically guided through it, and grouping would get you level 30 in no time. It just felt like everyone was hellbent on getting max level.

Which I can understand, but I'm approaching a milestone of gaming that's ridiculously long now, and I just want a more sedate experience, hence going back to eq.

Though that's effectively the other end of the spectrum as you literally start with fuck all, no map (ever), lose your corpse = lose pretty much everything. It's so unforgiving, you *have* to play it slow! Good fun though, 25 odd years on!
