He was in Sonic 3, where like in this film, Eggman
manipulates him to fight Sonic by claiming Sonic's after the Master Emerald. After that game though, he becomes an ally.

And at the start of the first film a bunch of Echidna's kill Sonics mother like figure.
Sort of hoping they hold off making him an ally until the end of 3. But my guess is Sonic 3 will introduce Metal Sonic.
First film was a real surprise for me so I'm looking forward to this.

The trailer isn't released just yet but didn't want to make a new post. Anyway, I've just noticed the poster for Egger's The Northman. Wow. Looks fantastic. Absolutely loved The Lighthouse, farts and all, but this looks to be going in a very different direction for him and I'm on board for that.
Hadn't seen the Spider-verse trailer before, but that looks to be pretty good too. The first one was great.
