The wet start to Le Mans was highly entertaining. Lots of people getting carried away. Toyota miles faster than the rest but Alpine do appear to potentially have an efficiency advantage so should keep them relatively honest.
LMP2 pretty close. Bit gutted that Davidson binned it from the lead.
Can't believe they've still not improved the TV graphics, which remain needlessly confusing. They totally ignore the fact that people either follow drivers manufacturers and only list car numbers with minimal timing info. You have to have the entry list to hand to have any chance of understanding whose where. It's as is if the designers have never actually watched Motorsport on TV themselves and have developed it in compete isolation.

Pretty tragic for Kubica's car yesterday. That would have been quite the story.
At least the #7 Toyota got the win those drivers deserved having lost out to the sister car through factors other than pace/driver error at least twice in the last few years. Unlike F1, I really think Le Mans' top tier needs manufacturer entries for legitimacy, so hopefully, Peugeot hit the ground running next year.
I moaned about the graphics before but the world feed was just plain bad in general. Constant sound mix issues and incoherent interviews, crash cuts to ad breaks in the middle of sentences. Massive delays between an incident and a replay. A lot of that probably wasn't Eurosports fault and was inherited from upstream, but still, this is supposed to be the premier race 'in the world' and it was a confusing mess for viewers and all felt a bit amateurish. Especially in a 24hr race, you should be able to join at any point and within a few minutes have some idea of what's going on and what you've missed without having to resort to the internet.

Got a spare ticket for motogp at silverstone for this weekend if anyone is interested.
Becketts stand, weekend camping at woodlands. Paid £188 but my brother can't join me now. Anyone keen? Happy to drop the price a bit as if I resold in ebay etc would lose loads anyway.

Yeah he seems a bit more chilled out than previous outings. Be exciting if alpine are even more competitive with the new regs.

Really hoping that 2022 does end up being the big reset but I’m not holding my breath.

It will be like any reg change. One team will get it just right and have a huge advantage. Hopefully a few teams will be close.
The racing as a whole will hopefully be better which will lead to some great seasons.
It's always ironic that the reg changes normally follow once all the teams are almost level. That is f1 though, I enjoy the technical arms race as much as the racing.

Hopefully the token system based on championship position does the business and closes things up easier. We don't need another positive feedback loop era.

They are keeping DRS on the cars as a back up, if all goes to plan they are going to remove it for 2023.

Pretty damn hyped for the British MotoGP this weekend, expecting the sold out crowd to mostly be wearing yellow for some reason

Q1 was fun. Just watching the timing, Norris maintained a 2.5s a lap advantage to Ricciardo throughout. Summer break doesn't appear to have helped then.

Lando can definitely get pole if it doesn't dry out.

This is fascinating. If it keeps raining then RB and Merc have absolutely cocked this up.

For fucks sake. Race control yet again drop a bollock on what should have been a rightful red flag before it even started.

The absolute state of that track compared to the original delay in quali and they sit on their hands. Idiots.

I think Lando was the first man out on track.
I'm not really sure what the point of full wets are these days. It probably was too wet, but as more general point, we never actually run in full wet conditions anymore. Every time they are actually better than Inters they immediately bring out the safety car or red flag it. If I was an F1 team boss, I'd be tempted to gamble on only bringing Inters.

Yeah wets are just worthless these days. It was always going to happen to the first person through that section. Theoretically whoever does their lap first in worsening conditions will be fastest so the onus falls on race control to stop them all from rushing out. There's just been an awful W Series crash in the same place in tricky conditions as a precedent. It's totally unacceptable that's just had to happen to someone.

Wasn't a reasonable chunk of last year's Turkish GP run on full wets?

Wasn't a reasonable chunk of last year's Turkish GP run on full wets? Good point, I stand corrected. Have just looked back on it and the first stint (of 8-12 laps) was indeed full wets.
